I love your trade thoughts. I would do something crazy like trade all the draft picks for the next two years to get what the team needs. Called me crazy but this season have been crazy.
Spot on evaluation of the Kings. 👏
Dennis is wrong fans want a rebuild. Lombardi had a plan kept the fanbase informed and the fans were on board.
The Kings don’t compete with the Dodgers in LA. The Kings have their own hockey fan base. Some of them will go to Dodger games as well, but Dodger baseball fans won’t typically go to Kings games. I don’t know of any Kings fan that picked Dodger season tix over Kings season tix, for example.
If anything, Kings have more of a problem from southern LA county residents being siphoned off to the better performing Ducks.
Its always been my point, you can change but you don't have talent
Diehard Kings Fan since 1985! Very Nicely Done fellas! Dennis was pretty accurate with just about all the Kings players and all the team issues except sadly Jim Hiller was only part of the Big problem and the real problem is and always was Luc Robitaille who since 2017 after becoming the Kings President this team has completely declined to an Average team at best and Kings prospect pull plummeted from Top 3 in the whole League to dead last in the league! Also looks like the players development department is so bad that first round picks and current stars get worst when coming to the Kings organization! Luc seriously needs to GO NOW!!!
DB is awesome!!!
The Kings demise is a multitude of issues starting with Luc creating a "good old boys" culture, the head coaches were hired to placate the players after their rebellion against Sutter, Blake not having any plan, several bad signings (Kovalchuk, Dubois, etc), then Holland coming in keeping Hiller despite the obvious signs that he wasn't a good coach, and then Holland signing several scrub players for excessive money and excessive contract lengths. Time to fire Luc and Holland and start a rebuild.
A NEW GM WOULD BE BETTER…KINGS HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT TRIED TO KEEP ADDING EVEN MORE AGE…HUNG ON TO VETS TOO LONG…SHOULD HAVE TRADED KEY VETS FOR PICKS A YEAR AGO…KIDS AREN'T PLAYING ENOUGH….SAD TO SEE…
The Kings should hold onto their core, but trade everyone else. The core, in my opinion, is Kempe, Fiala, Panarin, Byfield, Laferriere, Clarke and Anderson. Everyone else is expandable and moveable. Ceci needs to be moved, and you could even slide in Angus Booth in his spot if you find a trade partner. Retain most of Ceci's contract, I don't care, he's just not there. I'd even be willing to DFA him if it came down to it. The goaltending is there, the core is there, we just need to address the rest of it. If we do, this teams window is wide open
That's the most common sense honest realistic take on the Kings I've heard in a long time. This team needs way too many parts to put it together in a short time. I blame Blake for obvious reasons, as well as 8 & 11 for thinking they had another realistic chance to kick the can, as well as Luc and upper management who have been in denial WAY too long.
So. They are going to hang on to old players, not rebuild, because "they can't" (utter nonsense) burn their future picks and be mediocre. And then this white haired guy will complain they are mediocre. Can I PLEASE have his job? Or Ken Holland's? Who white haired guy loves. JC.
