Idk I feel like we are in the situation where we either move him or lose him for nothing. I just feel like he's gonna leverage the fact that hes been to the finals twice to try to get more out of us but hes basically the same in net as Jarry and it just seems like we needed a miracle to get that contract off our books and I dont want to deal with that situation again. Good gsax, hes a bit inconsistent and probably expensive. We've already gotten more than I thought possible out of that Jarry contract so losing Skinner for nothing wouldnt be too terrible. I feel like if the offer is good enough we just have to though. We are still building for our future here if we get something for him that improves our prospect pool its a no brainer. We have to think about more than just this season. If we navigate the near future as if we are a perennial contender we will end up being the next New York Rangers, thats what teams turn into when they try to rush the process.
Keep Silovs he is a lot better than Skinner
They should sign Skinner and play him with Silovs as a good tandem. Kulak was not good with Pens for whatever reason. Edmonton liked Kulak we should have traded him back but that would have been just so evil. They need to sign Malkins. Understand new ownership may or may not like that idea but would think Dubas would like to sign him for a year.
Imo, feels like moving him because the youngsters are showing initial promise might turn out to be a Fleury/Matt Murray situation. I think Silovs and Murashov are much better than Murray ever was or is, and I never bought into the Murray hype. Even so, look at how his play dropped off, bad, when Fleury wasn't around to carry half the load for him. Gut says it would be a mistake to get rid of a veteran, experienced presence like Skinner this season.

Trade murashov
Leave the Goaltending alone in my opinion. Everyone was crying about Jarry, now that we have a solid goaltender, we NEED to trade Skinner for assets. You cannot have it BOTH WAYS. "We need to go on a deep playoff run for Sid." "We need to trade Skinner for assets. Make up your minds
I’d flip skinner for the right piece
Question for you guys, say Kyle Dubas does flip Skinner, and say we receive a 2nd & 3rd for him, which I think is reasonable. That would take the Jarry & Poulin trade return to 3-2nds, 1-3rd, and Sam Grirard. We are so far ahead. Now, the opposite side says "we need his playoff experience" How far do you realistically think we'll go this playoffs? Maybe 2nd round? But gain those assests, make a big deal for Robertson, and personally Id go for Thomas too, we need those picks, then look at next year and are chances……we could still pull off a Whitecloud trade or someone to shore up the defense. We would definitely be Cup contenders next year with our future elite pieces in place. We have a number of up and coming supporting cast players. What would both take to pull off…..most likely Rakell, McGroarty, 2 or 3-1sts, and a 2nd or 2, correct? We'd still have 6-2nd round picks in the next 3 year, ok no 1sts for 3 years but look at how We'd be set up especially after next year and Geno's last. Chinakhov is a pure sniper who needs a setup man and Thomas is an elite setup man who needs a sniper…together for years!!
I’d have Silvos and Murashov
Silovs thrives in high stress environments. He gonna be a beast. Just starting to turn end of season sign em for 3 more with him as next year starter and murashov backstop. Penguins 🐧 good for quite some time.
Sad to see skinner go because he looks so good in pens jersey. But has to be done .
