Still a decent producer and minute muncher in STL. Solid upgrade if true

  2. needuhlife19

Steve just wanted to finally sleep in on day 1 of the draft

  3. BellsBeersy

Holy smokes we actually did something to strengthen our D group

I’ve been a huge critic of Yzerman but LFG. I’m glad he did SOMETHING. Hopefully we can get over the hump now

  5. Historical-Pause-401

Begging Steve to make a meaningful move and then freaking out about what he gave up is peak fandom

  6. DoeJumars

not giving up any prospects is nice, fuck the picks. The system is supposed to be so good, lets roll.

  7. Funny_Demand_6333

Anyone saying it’s too much has not paid attention to the other trades from the past 2-3 days

Doomers in shambles (don’t look at my past comments)

Man this is polarizing. Pretty sure the ones that are most upset would also be the loudest if we did nothing at all.

He is instantly our third best defender aside from the odd big game from Chariot. Our first was gone no matter what trade we made. We addressed an absolute need.

The fact Holl is going back the other way is a Yzerman Masterclass

    @emilymkaplan
The Rangers didn’t trade Vincent Trocheck.

Guys this is good. He’s playing 23 mins a night, barely a negative on a bad STL team. He slots in our #2RD behind Seider to shield ASP for this and next year.

The price is the price, literally Nic Roy went for a 1st and 4th.. this is way better than doing nothing

  13. tibbles1

A forward would have been nice, but this is a damn good trade. A solid middle pair D, not a rental, and we don’t give up any of our prospects.

    Damn good deal.

  14. rimrockbuzz

Im fine with it. Enough in the pipeline I’d rather have a skater who can play now than a late 1st round pick who won’t play till 2030

  15. randigital

I hate sending first rounders but honestly, it’s time to do something. Would rather swing and miss than stand pat and end up shitting the bed

  16. Least favorite part of this trade is it opens the door for Yzerman to sign Holl in free agency /s

  17. Holy smokes 33 year old is worth a 1st and 3rd round pick?!

Oh we paid for them to take boat anchor Holl too. Nvm

  18. SodapopPulsar

People acting like it was possible to acquire a right shot D who has very solid metrics and counting stats while playing 22 minutes a night in all three phases without giving up a 1st are exhausting.

Faulk is gonna be a solid player here, in a spot we badly needed a solid player in.

  19. GottWhat

Since we just got a 3rd with our trade with Pittsburgh, it’s almost like we traded Holl, Soderblom and a 1st for Faulk. I like it.
