@Islanders de New York

Agree looks like a deal Lou would make. Major over pay and we are stuck with him for 2 more years 6.5? I lost faith in Darch now this deal stinks. meanwhile Deslariuos from Philly goes for a 7th round pick he would have been an upgrade over anyone on the 4th line. Should have released Druoin if no one wanted him. And in a sellers market trade Lee and JGP. They will be a solid bet to make the playoffs either way. Very bad deal.

  2. Tell Me why if trading 1st round pick( s) was on the table why Do You not go after Nemec and even Brink would have been better than what He did.

  3. And too much for JGP at most 2x 4.5 . Between him Palat and Schen a lot of dead money. Lee needs to go after this year another aging player costing us money.

  4. You can’t make everyone happy, but I am happy about the trade is that the GM had a plan to get more versatile and tougher… the GM executed his plan by acquiring a veteran Center who will be someone to lean on during the dog days of playoff positioning and during the playoff run. He adds veteran leadership and flexibility for the Islanders team. Is the price high yes but the GM had a plan and gave Roy a veteran leader with versatility and physicality for this playoff run

  5. dumped Drouin….lost a goalie prospect who we don't need and a third…no problem with that…the late first…who knows….cizikas and Mclean won't be here next year I would imagine so we'lll save some money there to pay for schenn…at least we have some grit now. and some cup experienced players..we're not winning a cup this year…most before season ..included you gil….didnt think we'd even be in playoffs so this will be fun….and we kept all our blue chip prospects and resigned pageu..im happy

  6. What?
He’s a very solid 2C that may help unlock Heiny and Ritchie and let Barzy stay with Horvat

PLUS any other deal required KaShawn and that’s a NO

    c’mon man

  7. We will be out of the playoffs between rounds 1-3 that is my prediction. This trade is a veteran teaching fowards some stuff trade but that's it. We gave too much and 0 juice back in return

  8. I have been saying this since tavares has left the team we needed:

    1. Defense – we got
    2. Goalie – we got
    3. Coach – we got
    4. Gm – we got
    5. Offense – we don't have yet and we gave too much for an old man. We need 1 more huge piece and preferably a young winger. Now we have to save this years draft and fix the offense more. Either we get 2 medium pieces on offense or 1 gigantic piece on offense but it must happen or we will never win.

  9. I'm definitely not as down as most islander fans are on this deal. We still have our first and third round picks anyway. The first round pick we got from Colorado is almost like a second round pick anyway. And when was the last time we heard of anybody who was willing to waive their no trade clause to come to the Islanders? When asked why, Schenn's response was " Sorokin and Schaeffer."

  10. wtf? isles had to basically give up a first to dump 29 plus two minor pieces just to pick up another average scorer with 12 g 28 pts. in schenn? just like i said darche would just add another average scorer to go with his collection of average scorers. and 27, 44 remain, no assets added for two ufa's to be. now get ready for the 3 year extentions to come. first tdl = failure for darche. this franchise is just incapable of finding big time scorers. its been in isles dna since bow tie left. how many more fkn c's do isles need? isles need big time g scorers on the wing. fk how old is this guy? he was part of the j. carter philly to la trade way back in '11 when la was loading up for those cup runs. should have added l. schenn as well.

  11. if this was all they went out to get than my question is what was the point? Brayden scheen aint going to win them a stanley cup even in fantasy land. If the plan isnt to win a cup then why did we just throw away 2 picks and take on extra salary? Does the trade move the needle in either direction i certainly dont think so. It doesnt hurt them but it also doesnt win the big one. I just cant make it make sense the picks seem like they could have gained a whole lot more for them come the draft.

  12. We weren’t expecting Isles to be good this year. This is just to get more experienced help in playoffs and by all means their future looks bright.

  13. your over dramatic, schenn was the blues captain, he brings it every nite, ror and stam in Nashville are having good years, scheenn will get you into the playoffs..

  14. I like the player despite his age, and I’m relieved I won’t have to be frustrated by Drouin anymore. What really bothers me is losing the draft capital. I am happy we’re retaining JG, I’ve always liked him and followed his whole career in Ottawa and New York. Overall, I don’t like the trade. It feels like a move by Darche to push for the playoffs in his first season as GM. I agree with you, Gil, I’m not a fan of this deal, and the loss of draft capital is the part I dislike the most along with acquiring a declining player. LGI

  15. 11:39 Couldn’t disagree more Schenn had 50 pts last year. The last pick in the first round and a third rounder don’t help when the top 3 prospects come up. His contract ends at the right time. And your nuts if you think that package gets Kyrou.
