| Podcast JD Bunkis – 9 mars 2026. #Hockey #mapleleafs #Podcast

  1. I realize this show is a total leafs/jays homer show… I get that. But no mention of the NHL regular season game of the year – Lightning v Sabres last night? Criminal… 👎🏻😳

  2. so for the reverse standings, someone please educate me on the checks and balances designed by the nhl. What is in place in the rules that matches the mechanism of the weighted lottery? If there's nothing in the rules to address this, then the only lottery that makes sense is a flat unweighted lottery. In other words, the NHL relentelessly expanded the league and the schedule decade after decade, to drive revenues. But, the unintended side effect of that growth is there are so many non-playoff teams and so many meaningless games down the stretch, that any non-playoff team is in reach of 32'nd place and best odds in the draft if they go all in. Unless there are some arcane rules and penalties that can be assessed to teams for deliberately tanking, then the only possible solution is a flat unweighted lottery. Willing to be educated otherwise though if someone actually knows better.

  3. I hope Laughton will be our Daniel Winnik from years past where we trade and then resign him in the offseason

  4. Leafs and the media so stupid to keep trading first round picks. We need a GM like Sam Pollock. He absolutely lived for the draft !

  5. The PA will never agree to a change in the "no trade" clause. Additionally, players will just play out their entry level contracts and leave as UFA's.

  6. The Leafs going forward need to find some mentors for the next group of young players that are being brought in. One of the problems with the the past decade was that there wasn't any seasoned veterans to provide the proper guidance, and teach them how to win.

  7. Leafs pick will fall too 6th this year. If they continue with this group it will improve next year and their pick will end up being 11th overall. I have heard Treliving is one of the nicest guy's that's cool but his resume speaks for it's self Get a president of hockey ops a hockey guy Chris Pronger type guy and tear it down.

  8. I agree, this team needs to sign a veteran 2C in the offseason! They should announce Berube's replacement prior to July 1st at the end of the season or near the end of the season. That way you can get 3-4 veteran guys for the middle-bottom six and they know who they're playing for the upcoming season. I think 2 critical trades need to happen, trade Woll for Binner, I think Stolarz is the better goalie/starter right now (honestly) and Woll has more trade value because he has a better ceiling if he stays healthy, either that or you trade Hildeby to the Blues for Binner. Blues are going younger, so 18-25 guys are highly attractive to them for a window in 3-4 years they'll be going head-to-head with Sharks! The other trade and Tree is perfect is trading out someone (not named Knies) for Huberdeau out of Calgary… and putting Hubie on the top line with Auston to revive his numbers somewhere close to his Florida numbers/shape again, that guy needs a complete reset for his career and I feel like Auston could be the revival plan… as he's a pass/first playmaker that can clearly hang on the top line like he did with Barky!
