Is it Raffi Torres? OK, we good…

  2. hughbiffingmock

I’m sure Parros came to it many times watching a Toronto player get taken out for the season. The fucking loser.

5 games is a fucking joke for a repeat offender.

  3. So, just so everyone is on the same page: if there is a generational tallent, and your team can take them out for the season, absolutely do it. 5 games is nothing compared to the potential gain.

This is what the league wants.

Shame Gudas isn’t on the Panthers. He would have gotten just a fine

Parrot is such an enigma. Dude is a Princeton grad and ridiculously smart and well spoken (concussions not withstanding) who has a successful business and yet makes some of the dumbest hockey decisions

“Suspending someone or fining them $5001 or more makes us have a hearing. That’s a lot of work we don’t like to do. But the Gudas thing made us realize we have to do it every now and again to remind people that we can. Not that we want to. “

George Parros hasn’t « stood » for anything in years.

Cool. Now do half the Panthers bench for the shit they get away with

  9. I think one of the major issues for me when all this went down was that they didnt leave the wiggle room for more. the fact they had a phoner vs in person, meant it was never going to be more than 5. I actually dont think i think 5 is that bad of a number, maybe a couple more… but its a bit dismissive to take a major incident, with a major player, and a major problem…and not even get everybody together to discuss.

the issue with DOPS is two fold.

one: the NHLPA and its ass backwards approach to speaking on behalf of the one being punished. the players union, protect the guilty party and speak on their behalf and try to have the smallest punishment possible (so their union member loses the least amount of money). but what about the victim. where is the union on their behalf? since matthews is on IR and getting paid still…they just dont care and make sure to protect Gudas’ wage. but what about the flow through impact on matthews potential next contract, or other players toronto may go after if they had a healthy matthews to dangle as an incentive to sign. its pretty closed minded thinking on the PA to just protect the guilty wage

the other issue is how heavily reliant on precedents they are when determining the duration of these situations…. when they’ve blown so many calls in the past, and there’s general agreement the duration wasnt long enough, then you use THAT as a precedent in a case moving forward. the problem will never fix itself. its like Hallucinations in using AI…. a flawed outcome becomes factual context.

Great message for McDavid, McKinnon, Celebrini, the Hughes and any other superstar. Your days are numbered

Parrots has no place in this department. Should not have a job.

  12. Competitive_Ad1237

Gudas should of gotten atleast 10 maybe the season + playoffs this was the 6 time he got suspended

  13. Fit-Meal4943

Gudas should be out for the season and post season.

  14. Available_Summer_418

Sounds like an arrogant prick. Somehow Riellys suspension on Grieg is equal to Gudas blowing up Matthews knee. Absolutely insane.

  15. Parros was a goon when he played and has shown he will always take the goons’ side. His 9 years at this position has shown this.

He doesn’t give a rat’s ass about player safety.

  16. TiredReader87

This is what happens when you appoint a dirty idiot who could barely play to police a League such as this.

  17. banyanoak

To everyone blaming Parros: you’re not wrong, but know that his job is to absorb fans’ anger while doing precisely what the league wants him to do.

Like every league dept, Player Safety is run exactly the way Bettman and the majority of owners want it to be. If it weren’t, they’d do something about it.

  18. ayoungmanfromtheuk

Nah it’s bullshit that bum needs to be thrown out of the league

  19. Yeah a former Anaheim player who led the team in fighting majors the year they won the cup is definitely the guy I want responsible for meting out justice related to player safety. This league is a joke.

  20. Waiting for thr next knee on knee and guy gets 10

  21. Independent-Silver57

Ahh yes, NHL Player safety executive “George Parros” who starred as himself in the critically acclaimed movie Goon: Last of the Enforcers (2017)

You literally can not make this shit up dude. A fucking goon leading your player safety initiative in 2026

  22. AnnoyedYamcha

How the fuck did George Parros get that job. He was a goon when he played.

  23. jonezsodaz

This guy is worse then Buttman unbelievable.

  24. I hear a lot of people pointing out how you can hurt one of the best players and only get 5 games. I get it but I think it should be even for everyone getting hurt. The focus should be on Gudas being a repeat offender and instantly getting the phone call hearing instead of the in person hearing.

5 games was the most they could do at that point. I think that’s where they messed up, and can’t go back on it now.

  25. Funkysoulninja

Fucking bullshit. It VERY obvious it was a targeted hit. For fucks sake. His nickname is the butcher. Far from a maple leafs fan. But he should be out as long as Matthew’s is.

  26. madworld2713

What a fucking loser Parros is, but then again I didn’t expect him to admit he was wrong.
