congrats NHL, you've created a stupid system where a team that is excellent all season long, on pace for 50 wins and 100 points, will probably miss the playoffs unless there is a miracle. so stupid. if the isles miss the playoffs after this historic season, I will discontinue being an nhl fan. enough bs. they have earned the right to be in a comfortable playoff spot getting ready to focus on playoff games, and instead, 16 loser points by other teams puts them OUT of the playoff picture right now. make it make sense. horrible.
i also cannot believe that nobody is talking about how the ref gift wrapped the game with the non call on the winning goal. i understand that the isles didn't play well in the third period, but a penalty is a penalty. if that cross check l3eading to a goal wasn't a penalty, then I am watching the wrong league. after almost 40 years of watching the isles lose, this is too much to bear. enough is enough. cant take any more. one of the best seasons in team history, and they will miss the playoffs due to loser points? im done. out of here. cant believe this bs.
The New York Islanders defense absolutely sucks. Out of position most of the time. Head scratching giveaways. The short handed goal they allowed was awful. There is no hitting. It seems like the entire team is petrified of hitting someone. They will make the playoffs. But will not make it out of round 1 due to their inability to play sound NHL defense. They need some serious upgrades on defense to help Schaefer.
