  1. As a Fairfield County resident, I have grown up with watching the Bridgeport Islanders live. It’s so sad, but not that surprising, to see them go. I will always have fond memories of the games, despite not many people being there, which is why they are moving in the first place. It’s gonna be sad to see hockey leave Bridgeport, as the games were amazing memories for me. Bridgeport isn’t that far away from my location, which is why I go a lot. Although, I don’t know if it will be gone for good. This is because despite the fact that we are probably never getting the AHL back, we still have a pretty decent arena. Therefore, I am open to Total Mortgage Arena at least attempting to get some sort of new minor league hockey team, most likely via landing an ECHL team, at least in my opinion. As for what Hamilton’s team name should be, I think that the OHL’s Bulldogs should definitely rebrand as something else, and the relocated AHL team should be the official revival of the Hamilton Bulldogs, but as an AHL franchise. It would probably have a better logo though, and it would also have blue and orange as their colors, as those colors are the New York Islanders’ colors, and the Isles are their NHL counterpart. The Hartford Wolf Pack should definitely change their name to the Connecticut Rangers. That way, they would sound more like their NHL counterpart, and it also might attract the former Bridgeport Islanders fans to the Hartford Wolf Pack games. Mainly, it would be to represent a wider area and to sound more like their NHL counterpart. PeoplesBank Arena would remain their home, as like I said, Total Mortgage Arena should welcome an ECHL team. Not to mention the fact that it’s smaller than Hartford’s arena. Who knows though!
