Interesting read about future cap potentially going up $30 million in just the next 3 years.

    >11 teams brought in less than $220 million (in revenue) the Blue Jackets (the lowest at $161 million), Sabres, Senators, Sharks, Ducks, Jets, Mammoth, Predators, Blues, Flames and Hurricanes

Gotta wonder how many of those teams listed are not going to want to spend to the cap if their revenues don’t increase. This jump in spending is probably going to keep FA flat for a few years.

  2. I feel like a rising salary cap hurts the Blackhawks more than it helps. We need guys to make it to free agency, and if teams have money to spend, they’ll re-sign their guys. We saw it last offseason.

I for one think players should mostly play for the same team their entire career (especially if the feelings about the situation are mutual for both parties) and won’t shed a tear for the artificial parity that the salary cap introduces…

Why I want them to get a guy already extended or coming up a RFA expiring soon
