Canucks only earned 13 pts in 25 games since Jan 10 which is when both Hughes and Demko are no longer on the roster. Thats a pt % of 0.26. If this pace is maintained for the remainder of the season, that’ll be only 7 pts.
Let’s say maybe post trade deadline is a better reflection of their play as of late. They went 3-4-1. That’s a pt % of 0.4375. It’s still under 0.500. Pretty much guaranteed basement.

Watching Buium tonight made me extremely excited about getting Verhoeff. Honestly, he was one of the few Canucks noticeable tonight. Adding another guy in that tier would be amazing for the future.
The truth is, Canucks don’t actually have a great young blueline. It’s decent with Willander and DPetey. Maybe add Mancini, but none of these guys are on track to be Buium or Verhoeff.
