Gibson choked horribly and just before the 3-2 beachball goal to lose the game, DeBrincat on the power play selfishly ignored a wide open Kane on a cross crease pass and took an extremely low percentage shot through 4 guys. Kane who on Det rarely shows negative reactions to teammate decisions was visibly unhappy about it. Cat already had 2 hero goals the last 2 games but needed another. Ok I guess. More time to golf.
Edvinsson plays way too passive and soft for his size, he moves slow at times and his stick use is weak and sloppy. He has a lot of room to improve as a defender.
When there is a need for final push to show that a team is ready, they disappear. Larkin out, yeah but where is the rest of the group? When it matters other teams raise the game level.
This game is fully on Gibson for allowing two bad goals, Raymond, Seider, and Debrincat cost the team on the power play and 5 on 5 with their self centered plays completely ignoring Kane, Kane had two one timer chances on the power play and Seider did not pass on one while Debrincat did not pass on the other, Raymond also had one or two chances to pass to Kane on the power play but completely ignored him, in the first period after Debrincat hit the goal post he got the rebound and flicked it to the goalie instead of trying to retrieve it and pass it to Compher, Raymond was not good tonight at all and has not been since the Olympic break, hurt or not the point stands, Seider also cost the team with his foolish penalty that led to a 5 on 3 where the Bruins scored, and Debrincat had many other bad 5 on 5 plays where he just randomly took poor shots especially in the third period, gotta truly feel for Kane here.
If the Wings don't win at least 10 more games, they will have signed their death warrant for another year out of the playoffs. Stevie Y needs to take responsibility for the failures of this organization. There is nothing more than McClellan and his coaches can do. Gibson bombed today, plain and simple. All these Wings players ever give are excuses to their failures. These excuses will never get them into the playoffs. Stevie Y has signed players who just can't seem to win when they're called upon. This is very disappointing. If they were playing fast like they did tonight most of the season, their record would likely be better than it is….. Wings have failed to score regularly, and so doing, that will not get you into the playoffs. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think they can make the playoffs unless they win the next 10 games of what is remaining. If they can't do that, they'll be watching their opponents, once again, in the playoffs. The Wings can't rely on Larkin to bring them into the promise land of the playoffs. Larkin is good but he's not a superstar. And Rasmussen is hardly missed. The Wings AHL'ers can and have played better than Rasmussen. The Wings organization do not need for somebody like Rasmussen to come back. They actually need to let him go. They would be better off without him. How a hockey play 6 ft 6 in tall like Rasmussen doesn't use his body enough to check opposing players is beyond me. He can't score, he almost doesn't check. His worth has dwindled to an undisclosed figure not close to what the Wings are paying for him. And Michael Brandsegg is too early to tell where his future will be.

Disheartening after watching these other teams play. Pitt, Columbus, sabres, fliers, Ottawa, these teams are just bringing it, they know they’re going to win. Wings are hoping they win.

We outshot the Bruins 22-6 in the third. That 2 Bruin goal especially was the back breaker. Gibby has to stop that. 5 hole.
