He’s going to meet with both teams before hand and set the expectation. Everyone is expecting the “code” to be enforced, and Parros is going to tell them where the line is. There aren’t many people who know the code better than him. He’s not there to tell them not to, but he’s there to tell them where the line lies.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Parros isn’t the problem, or at least the whole problem. He’s the face that serves as the punching bag. He does the job the way the league wants him to do it, and if he didn’t, he’d have been fired long ago. He also has a whole team of people under him that are likely making the majority of the decisions for him, one of those people being Ryan Getzlaf.
