Hey great video! As a life long Florida fan a few things I think you glossed over. Although they had the pieces in Barkov, Huby, and Ekblad, I don't think the team would be so dominant under Tallon. His approach towards building a team was analytics and while there is some basis for that it shouldn't be the whole picture. His signings were sometimes not justified, although Bobrovsky has been doing better the 10 million dollar contract is not worth it ESPECIALLY when they decided to draft Knight 13th overall. Zito has brought a breath of fresh air and although very controversial now, bringing in Quenneville has definitely helped the team find its groove. Even with Quenneville now being gone, Brunette has been a great addition even though he has never been a head coach at the NHL level. Great video overall!

  2. I find it funny how they passed on bennet then but they have him now and he just got his 2nd hatty of the season

  3. You forgot to mention Anton Lundell in the video. Lundell has been a monster in the team

  4. FIXED? Being first so far in the regular season isn't FIXED! They haven't gotten past the first round of playoffs in over 20 years and there are TONS of empty seats most home games, even with their record and the numbers of Canadian snowbirds who come down to Miami every year. Their owner is a mafia made inside stock trader Guido who was too stupid and corrupt to be Trump's Secretary of the Army and he wouldn't know the game if you gave him a hockey puck enema.

  5. Picking Huberdeau – Barkov – Ekblad in consecutive years is ridiculous. All 3 have a chance at HOF.

  6. Florida hasn’t played Toronto yet, but they have the second strongest strength of schedule in the league (so far). Florida has given reality checks to a lot of teams so far.

  7. Audio mixing in this is just super hard to listen, too much in top of the high end so i would suggest dropping levels on anything above 8khz

  8. Great video. It’s been a long…long time coming but it seems like this Panthers team is finally for real. As a season ticket holder of 22 years I’ve been there for all the rough times and little success. Here’s hoping this team finally gets over that hump and wins a playoff series.

  9. Step 1: Drive Dale Tallon to a golf course and leave him there

    Step 2: Huberdeau

    Step 3: Barkov

    Step 4: Ekblad

Step 5: Spend the right money on the right players

But most importantly, you gotta make sure that Dale Tallon gets NOWHERE NEAR the building

  10. I'm totally crossing my fingers for a Colorado-Florida Stanley Cup Finals series. Flashbacks to 26 years earlier would come flooding back and I would feel 9 years old again! 🙂

  11. Never ever has a finnish captain raised the stanley cup. I hope Barkov would be the first one :')

  12. The panthers are in a world of hurt next year, they have 10 unsigned players, Yandle’s dead cap jumps 3.05 million to a total of 5.391 million (they have a total dead cap of 6.575 million next year), Barkovs contract jumps 4.1 million to 10 million and Verhaeghe’s contact jumps 3.166 million to 4.166 million, thats 10.36 million being added on top of what was already there before. The only help is with l luongo’s 1.092 million coming off the recapture penalty. If they want giroux like people still think they do they would only be getting by with LTIR space. Also Patrick Hornqvist will be turning 36 with a cap hit of 5.3 mill (January 1st birthday is pretty cool though.) Mason Marchment will also be a lot more expensive then almost league min (his contract is up and he could make a few mill)

  13. And the Panthers picked up Giroux at the trade deadline so they are definitely going for the cup this year

  14. I like the work you put in. But there's just a few discrepancies I have. The Panthers started their rebuild in 2010 when Tallon was hired. He actually stated they had a 5 year plan for their rebuild when he was hired. The 2011 division title was a fluke, and not planned. They were right on track with their rebuild (including a division title with a young core), until the new ownership at the time who were not part of the team when they started their rebuild, began to take control of on ice decisions. That changed the direction of where the team was going. If not for that, they would have been where they are now, 5 years ago.

  15. Panthers desperately need to move out of sunrise to capitalize on their success. Very hopeful for the project they’re working on in downtown Ft. Lauderdale

  16. Getting rid of Tallon was the best thing moving forward. He had some great moves for us but so many where banking on his previous success with chicago being replicated in FLA and in doing so we wound up holding onto him for too long at the detriment of the team. (probably out of loyalty from front office) Anyways, Zito is great and has provided instant change and success that was needed. We just need to get over the damn playoff hump.

  17. watching this now as Florida Panthers is about to enter 2nd round game 1 vs Tampa Bay. It brings a tear to my eye. I've been a Florida Panthers fan since 2003. I was 10 years old at the time.
Friends and others over here in Sweden support Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings or New York Rangers. I stuck to my panthers through all the hardships. Finally time for the Panthers to succeed!

  18. That’s fucking wild that they have all three of Ekblad, Bennett, and Reinhart now lol
