Cale 1.3
Malinski has been one of our best defencemen all season. He gained confidence quickly and now in his second full NHL season heâs showing some real swagger- things he inevitably picked up from Cale and Iâm so glad we locked him up for the next 4 seasons đđ.

Whenever I see a thread about âwhat player on your team has leveled up more than expectedâ or shit like that, heâs the first guy that comes to mind for me. There are flashier answers to the question (Wedgey of course, or Kelly), but IMO Malinski is our best D man other than Cale at this point, and thatâs no shade to Toews, just Malinski being amazing.
Heâs an excellent skater and puck mover, has some offensive touch, and plays smart defense. Also worth noting his D zone exits are phenomenal, and his advanced stats are crazy good. Makes me feel way better about Caleâs temporary absence.
The analytics show that this season he is one of the best d men in the entire league. Incredible find for the Avs. Yesterday during one of the scrums he was just smiling and laughing at one of the Stars players while heâs getting punched in the face, I love this kid
FO knows exactly what they’re doing when it comes to undrafted signings
SLAM-inski!
He’s been so sick this year, definitely become one of my faves.
Remember almost ten years ago where the Avs couldnât find a defenseman to save their lives? What a turnaround in a decade
