Here’s the reality no one wants to face: the GTA is a high cost of living area. There are a lot of people who are high income earners in the area. I think for the average fan, $460 per seat is quite a lot of money. But for the average high income earner, this is probably not a lot of money. I get why we get upset at the cost, at the culture this creates with “suits” in the building who often don’t really care, but this is the reality of the Toronto area. Not saying you can’t be upset about it, but it’s not going to change anytime soon.
Really funny that this is alot of the reason the team is so bad, the organizing knows they can make non stop money even if the team isn’t producing
The dead horse in this case are the fans that keep paying and going to these types of games.

I mean face value is ‘face value’. Sth get a discount on the face value of the ticket but the price on the ticket is the price on the ticket.
This is not like the single game ticket market where the team can adjust prices dynamically to account for day of the week, opponent, and their own performance.
That there is still demand at these prices shows that there is still a huge market of people who want to go just to watch a hockey game

By Monday at 5:30 pm, you’ll be able to buy lower bowls for $100.
I don’t know why you would want to go, of course, but if you do, prices will be much lower than face value.

Tickets are cheap elsewhere because nobody goes to the games. Leafs will draw a crowd whether they’re first in the league or 32nd in the league. You may not be willing to pay $460 for that ticket but a lot of other people will.
I was a life long Leafs fan until this year. I’m cheering for the Sens now. At least they’re hustling, despite the injuries. The Leafs just make me sad.

They’re not selling though. My row 23 tickets have been listed at less than face value since early March.
This is basically why the Leafs don’t ever have to win a Stanley cup cause no matter how much they stink up the building they are always one of the most profitable hockey teams. I mean…why stress about winning the toughest game possible when your top five in terms of money every year even if you odn’t make the playoffs.
And Leafs fans are too self sadistic to change that fact by not going, not buying, not watching and affecting the only seasonal stat the Leafs care about so here we are, again, always, and forever more.

I got a seat in the 100s around the 12th row for 140 a couple weeks back. Great game, they beat the Rangers. First game I went to that they won haha
If MLSE started selling seats cheaper than what they were sold to season ticket holders, would they have to refund the season ticket holders the difference?
Like if I owned Sec 122 Row 12 seat 3 and I paid on average $450 for each ticket at the beginning of the year, I’d be pissed if MLSE discounted the seat beside me to $200 face value.
Do you think MLSE is worth billions of dollars because they make events cheap and family friendly….?
I assume politically they aren’t going to drop prices below what season ticket holders paid. I saw plats going for 120 last week resale close to game time. There are deals to be had but MLSE is in for some pain on their profits. Hopefully they fire that dweeb Pelly for it
