While there is some talent there, the simple fact is that this team just isn’t good enough, not deep enough, not mentally tough enough, not physical enough, not built well enough.
I totally get that we did this rebuild on the hardest mode setting, but we should be better then this 10 years in.

Good. The fans deserve better. This team was fully capable of making the playoffs this year, but they played like shit down the stretch and blew several games they should’ve won. If they converted like three of those blown leads to wins, they’d be a playoff team.
The team I watched in November was completely different than the team I watched this month.
I usually catch a couple games a year, but I won’t be going down there until they turn this shit around.
And everyone will blame Yzerman, sure, but he did his part. He brought in a good coach to get everyone in line. He extended Seider and all the star players. He traded for a strong, physical defenseman to ease the growing pains of ASP. That trade, by the way, is exactly the trade I was hoping he’d make. So whatever. The players need to show up and play hockey. They didn’t do that. This is on them. If they played like they did in November and December all season, they’d make the playoffs. But they all played like shit and deserve this outcome.
