We got off of the metro at 6:00 am for my daughter to pass out the posters. When I got to the stage I couldn't believe how many people were already there! Best day of my life! Back to back!
i remember watching #63 Shane Gersich just 2 or 3 years ago playing in the USHL for the Omaha Lancers, he was an excellent player for them and how lucky to end up winning the cup with the capitals, that is totally awesome

I'm a die hard Leafs fan, and when the Capitals dispatched the Baby Buds in the 2016 playoffs, they sent a congratulatory note to the Leafs, giving them all the respect. And now that the Caps won the Cup, 3 things come to mind:
1) If DC was this nuts for the Cup, Leafs fans have a taste of how nuts it will be here in possibly 7 years or less.
2) Much love and respect to the Caps for their Cup victory.
3) The authenticity and pure joy of Alexander Ovechkin is infectious. There's no way anyone (except the Golden Knights and their fans, probably) cannot be genuinely happy for this dude.

So glad I went to this parade. I cant stand anything above 75 degrees, and it was like 95 degrees that day. So i was dying out there, but id do it again if it meant another championship for DC.
