If I was Kadri I'd rather take a pay cut and be on a contender. He's 32, realistically has 3 more good years. Kadri was also one of the league point leaders as the avs 1C when MacK was injured. He did better than a majority of 1Cs in the league. It's just that Kadri never really got an opportunity to be 1C let alone have decent wingers. Like the leafs decided that BOZAK was a better 1C than Kadri. Like it made zero sense, you'd have to on purpose ignore that talent.
2:50 Exactly. Pageau and his 33 points per year wont be missed with Kadri at center. Pageau would be great for another team that's building a shut down line, which we already have.
Kadri would probably take 7 x 7 with a VERY healthy NTC included. Perhaps 20+ teams. Kadri's real value will be in the playoffs, where is good for a point per game. Islanders sure could have used him in the semis those 2 years.

If we give him 6 years he will be bought out in 3 seasons, mark my words. The guy is 32 years old, and just had a career year on the most offensively minded team in the league. We are the opposite of offensive minded. In the isles he’ll get max 50 points. We need to sign Dobson and Romanov, which will take up 8 mil combined, and Barzal next season who will get at least 7-8 mil. Giving pit another long term contract to an aging player who just had his best season in a contract year will be ridiculously idiotic.

He should be getting like 4 years for 5.5 million a year – but someone will pay him more and give him more years…going to be a bad contract in about 2 years

The isles are going to give nadri a crap ton of money then wonder why he only gets 22 goals and 25 assists. They are expecting those 87 points he scored for the lanche. This guy has been in the league for 13 years and his previous high season total before last year was 61 points. The isles don't have players the quality of the avs..nadri points will plummet with them but hey he will get his 8 mil a year from them.
