  1. I can totally see the Wild and Guerin building a roster full of USA maga weasels. Quickly becoming the league’s most hated team.

  2. I don’t think the Red Wings are gonna get fleeced on this deal. Yzerman is a shrewd negotiator and won’t just get draft picks for a consistent 30-goal scorer.

  3. Michigander here…if Stevie Y were GM anywhere else, he would have been fired by now. Yes, Larkin collapses in March. But I still look at C19 because he builds the roster yet we still don’t have four rolling lines.

ETA: he’s allegedly pointed at Florida, Vegas and Minnesota. He’ll be a good 2C. I’m with you on Sharks or Mammoth.

  4. Detroit has significant leverage. Its that 5 year contract. They dont have to do anything if they dont get the right return.

Larkin had 1 5v5 goal in the 2nd half of the season….

  5. I think the wings have more leverage than you’re giving credit. They don’t have to trade him, he has 5 years left on his deal

If I’m Stevie y and those are the 3 teams he gives as options, I’m not trading him

I think Larkin will have to open up his options more if he’s serious about wanting a trade, because the wings really don’t have to trade him anytime soon

  6. I say we refuse to trade him. Continue to pay his salary and scratch him so he can sit at home and watch his career end with a whimper and a trade request.

  7. I’m sorry but Larkin plays a big role in the March collapse the last few years. Out of all the players in that locker room, he is most responsible. Yes it doesn’t all fall on him but he is the captain and the fact that he had like 1 even strength goal in all of 2026 is a problem. Of course as soon as Yzerman makes a move at the deadline he twists his leg literally that same day.

It feels like he took a massive dump on the middle of the floor then plugs his nose and says “yeah, that stinks I’m outta here “ and leaves everyone else to deal with it.

Yes Yzerman is to blame as well but Larkin is not without his share

  8. Can’t blame Larkin for not wanting to waste the last few years of his career not making the playoffs.

  9. Leaving the choice between these 3 teams is a stupid move from him. He's really burnin' the bridge with the fanbase.

  10. Equating the results of a two week elimination tournament to an 80+ game season seems really dumb to me tbh.

  11. Why is everyone saying Detroit is helpless. They don't HAVE to trade him for 5 years. He can ask to go to 3 teams and Detroit can just say no. He's a 2nd line center on any other team.

  12. Goodbye! Good Riddance! He hasn't seen the playoffs while wearing the C. So I believe its not the "Yzerplan" but his failures as a Captain!

  13. I think it's funny that he had a 3 team trade we all know where he wants to go It's Min or Florida. 💭

  14. The wild are not as good as people make them out to be. I bet he would go to vegas or florida in a heartbeat.

  15. Remember the summer of 1996? The Red Wings were falling apart that summer too…

A future Hall of Fame forward (Dino Ciccerelli(sp?)) was having a very public falling out with the coach and general manager. And while another future Hall of Fame defenseman (Paul Coffey) kept things more professional, the rumor mill insisted (accurately) that the team was determined to trade him, and our most recent top-5 draft pick (Kieth Primeau) publicly demanded a trade and threatened to hold out as necessary to force one (he wasn't bluffing!). Another key forward was spiraling out of control with alcohol addiction, and yet another's career was in jeopardy as doctors were literally rebuilding his face. This summer hasn't brought nearly the dysfunctional drama which the team endured 30 summers ago, with a then league-leading Stanley Cup drought of 41 years.

That Stanley Cup drought ended just one year later.

  16. I think the option 2 teams are the most likely outcome he’s 30 he will wants to win now before he starts seeing serious regression

  17. Frankly, they gave him a no trade clause, it’s Detroit’s fault. This will be a 3 way trade to acquire a centre.
