Les Oilers d’Edmonton échangeront-ils Jesse Puljujarvi contre Jake Virtanen? | 14 septembre 2022
Le fanatique des Oilers jette un œil à la théorie croissante selon laquelle les Oilers échangeront Jesse Puljujarvi et le remplaceront par Jake Virtanen. #Oilers #LetsGoOilers #JakeVirtanen #JessePuljujarvi
Sad thing about the Oilers is under Holland they air out every little or big thing they are considering or looking into which means the entire league know, the whole of Twitter know and everyone else and their grandparents know the clubs next move. Just for once wish they would operate like the Lightning or Avalanche or Hurricanes front office where when things go down it’s a complete shock.
Hate that JP is going when his value is far more than the reported 2nd or 3rd rounder he’s being linked with 🤦♂️
Derek Ryan, foegle, samorukov neimilinen shore koek. You know …. The plugs ….. trade plugs. Holland won’t trade Jesse for a pick. Seriously. They don’t have to. As the season goes on injuries will happen and the roster can sort it self out. But I think going in close to the cap isn’t a bad thing especially considering how many injuries happen. If it’s not working and he’s looking like a bad deal at 3 mil trade him halfway through the season for a bag of pucks , but he was really good complimentary player for 1.5 seasons.
Why would Jake want to stay here. He should want to start fresh , not here in Edmonton , but maybe in Dallas or somewhere out east. Edmonton isn’t where he should pick imo
Clears cap space. Gets some kind of return on Jessie. Good points others are making about us having depth on the farm too.
My thoughts are Virtanen could be good. He was really young and improving. He provides the physical we need and the desire to get back to the NHL level. This is his shot and he'll be motivated.
Also right behind big V will be our youngsters. So should he get hurt, stumble or whatever he is easy to place on waivers and have a young gun come in. This is a really flexible situation. If he does great, great and if he doesn't then that's really no skin off our back.
I haven’t been in the best mental state recently so I’ve been off YouTube for a few weeks, but it’s really nice to be back so I can enjoy the content here. I think Virtanen would be a good add for our bottom 6, but for sure not at the cost of Pulj. Can’t wait for the season to start
Well ken Holland has to do something, season going to start..I wouldn't like Jesse puljujarvi going to Calgary nope that's a big no…but Holland has to do it I hope he picks Wisely cuz the Boyz are ready..I would sign Virtanen for a PTO…no problem he's has lots of experience I have nothing against Jesse puljujarvi..but we need McLeod like come on did u see him in the playoffs run..just imagine them in the Stanley Cup finals.. Hola…lol
Losing Jesse P. gives me anxiety attacks for some reason. For me, the possession and shot share numbers do not lie. However if COnnor McDavid is too annoyed about him too often and lets him show and Jesse's confidence suffers….maybe it's for the best.
Foegele has to be the guy moved, I’d pay to move him, there is just so many reasons he has the be the guy, firstly the Oil have zero depth on the right side gets worse with a JP trade even if they bring in shotgun Jake. Secondly moving Foegele to his off wing would be a disaster, he sucks now getting pucks out on his strong side plus the guy can’t stick handle so asking him to make plays on his backhand would be a bigger disaster in the Dzone the he is now. Moving PJ would most likely mean Hyman has to move to his natural wing when he is much move affective playing his off wing.
I dunno about this. Virtanen has more bad Karma than Jesse by far. That said, a 2nd round pick is probably all they can get for Jesse in the current market. If he has a flying start like he did last season, then he could probably fetch a late 1st, but then if he has a great start, who would want to trade him? Holland needs to figure out how to sell high with Jesse.
As for Virtanen, he only really had one decent year in Vancouver, signed a contract, and then had Vancouver immediately but out that contract in it's first season after 5 points in 38 games. He then had less than half a point a game in the KHL. We should have people keep an eye on Zach Aston-Reese whos on PTO in Toronto, and sign him to that league min contract if he's looking good. ZAR brings more grit and heart'n soul than Virtanen, and comes with less baggage.
Yakupov is eligible for a PTO, we could roll that cart around too.
It'd be nice to get another middle six guy and not move ours out. We're in a bad cap crunch right now. Hopefully it can be figured out before it gets desperate.
Hopefully Foegle is traded but the team has to do something with the cap mess. Bison King would be more attractive to other teams but keeping him over Foegle makes more sense. Virtanen for me a maybe. Just not sure but I still have faith in Holland and I hope he has something brewing on the back burner. Keep the vids rolling Patrick.
I hope Holland can get this all sorted out soon! I'd rather start the season with 20 man roster than give Jesse away for nothing! If Jake is in the best shape of his life then he might be a great addition! Can't wait for the season to start!!!💪🤣✌
The only way Virtanen is going to work is if his attitude, mind and heart are in the right place. Superstars like McDavid, Draisaitl and even Kane should inspire him to take his game to the next level. One thing is clear, the 3 superstars did not inspire JP. And therein lies the problem with JP. When the 2 best players in the world make you feel more insecure than feeling like you can achieve anything…having the opposite effect on your game…it's time for you to go and rediscover yourself elsewhere. Ego and insecurity are a very destructive combination for a professional athlete. For anyone. And that pretty much sums up JP. I believe Holland is looking at this situation in this perspective. I believe Holland is thinking all the star power on the Oilers will have the right effect on Virtanen. It's all about the DNA of a player and how they handle pressure, challenges. First and foremost, do they embrace inspiration or do they resist it? In this case it's not about the dollar value of the player – $3M compared to 750k. It's about the DNA of the player. The money to clear cap space needs to be done, but I guarantee the importance of the JP Vertanen deal is by far about DNA and chemistry. On that note, I'd like to segway into the so called new and improved Calgary Flames. We know how the Oilers will perform in 22/23. The team as is is a proven concept on the ice. All Campbell has to do is be just a little better than Smith and we're right back to the WCF. However, right now Calgary is only a paper shuffling team. On paper they look great, but the team itself is not a proven concept. No one knows how the chemistry will work out in Calgary. Not the GM, not Sutter, and not the players. With that said I believe it'll take Calgary the better part of the first half the season to figure themselves out. Calgary IMO is not a slam dunk winning team. The growing pains will be there and they'll probably be no better than a 500 club in the first half of the season. But I think they'll find themselves as a team and become a major force after December, make the playoffs and become a serious contender in the playoffs.
If Edmonton gets Colorado's 2nd round draft pick for Pulijujarvi (couldn'tthey do a bit better than that?), maybe they have a chance to draft a player who can in the future be better than Pulijujarvi . If he's only as good as Pulijujarvi, at least in the short term they create cap space. Alternatively, duting the season they might create more cap space and trade that pick for a proven player. Jesse Pulijujarvi might yet blossom into the player he was projected to be when he was drafted (unlikely) but it will not happen in Edmonton.
WOW please don't tease me ! I feel it's taking to long to trade Jesse before the season ! Does this just show that NHL teams don't want Jesse because his low quality play ! Let Go Oilers ! WE WANT THE CUP BACK 🇨🇦💯
26pts for Foegle playing as a bottom 6 forward, not bad. Only 36pts for JP playing on lines with McDavid or Draisaitl, brutal!!! I’d rather see JP get traded and give Foegle a shot as a top 6 forward. JP had his chance and blew it, he also gives the puck away far to often. Foegle is a much better player and is underrated. I’m not to keen on giving up size but JP just doesn’t use his size to his advantage.
I still think trading Barrie for a shutdown 3rd pairing guy is the right move. Highest trade value and cap hit of the 3. I know Jesse probably isn’t here long term but let him have a good season to get his value up and move his RFA rights next year.

Keep up the good work Fanatic!
Do it do it do it do it!
I think I'd be holding out a big carrot to Dylan Holloway before I bothered with Jake Virtanen.
Get rid of Foegle
Maybe if Peter chi came back. Get rid of a really good player for a flop?
How much are the oil over the cap

Really curious if Bourgault will make this team

Like the new logo Pat 😉
What about sending Jesse Puljujarvi to Buffalo for a draft pick ! Like now, before the season starts.
Hey dude, love listening to your oil content!
No way I'm trading Jesse for goofball Jake

PJV’s 5×5 defensive stats are elite.
Don’t trade this guy
Sign vertsbin and send Ryan and shore to the minors for cap space
Yakupov is eligible for a PTO, we could roll that cart around too.

Kessel for 1 million dollars is better if he hasn't signed yet I haven't heard anything
I hope not. He didn't do shit in Vancouver.

Trade is the good Jesse is a good move he has done nothing
Well, the Oilers did sign Jake Virtanen to a PTO with Jason Demers as of late…
