wouldn't surprise me to see Z and Holtz both make the team and play on the same line, and hopefully recreate the magic they had in Utica
i like Spaulding, listened to a few of his hockey calls, think he'll make a seamless transition from Cangi

I’m know this sounds silly but If Zetterlund starts fighting every now and then it would certainly increase his chances of making the team. Fighting obviously isn’t what it once was but teams still value that skill set. Probably the main reason B. Smith was signed on D.
No more Spongebob and Patrick. Hope Spaulding sounds like Squidward or Mr. Krabs.
Both Holtz and Zetterlund had similar seasons down in the AHL averaging almost a point per game. Hopefully training in the offseason with Jesper Bratt pays off for Holtz. Zetterlund showed upside at the end of last season. You'd think pairing them with Haula on the 3rd line could be a fit. We will see how they do come preseason. Wish Langenbrunner was with the Devils organization. Dude is 💯 lunch pale.
Fabian is so much better than Holtz. He is ready as well as Okhotyuk and Bahl, but garbage signing like Smith and Graves are progress stoppers. They are ready NOW
Zetterlund is great, Holtz was intimidated. all over the ice,Fabian was not. I watch every Utica game as well and if you do not do not even question me, I hate most fellow Devils fans they are so uneducated about players in our system.If you do not watch Utica games on AHL tv but watch garbage baseball …you are a fraud
Also Zetterlund should be a 3 yr deal. All of these one year contracts on our young drafted, talented players is stupid. Signings like Smith on D is such a garbage waste of time yet he gets a multi-year deal. Oh all of you so excited about the AHL goalie from Hershey are in for a ride awakening, we gave that trash a 3 yr deal. Horrible, but at least we did not sign the fraud Johnny Hockey,..I like the make of CBJ in net but he went there for money, after game 1 vs Edmonton he did not exploit Smith in net or the horrible Oilers D yet our idiot fans wanted to bankrupt out cap for his ass? Look at the line he was on…..those days of 100 points are over in CBJ. He was all about money. I do not like our off season other than our own players we signed. We signed and traded for progress stoppers.

I remember when Zetterlund (3rd round) and Boquist (early second round) were drafted after Nico in 2017. Hopefully, they both have progressed enough to have an impact on the BIG club this year. Also, Reilly Walsh was drafted later in the 3rd round that year. Maybe he even gets a call-up if injuries pile up. That was some draft for our Devils! Studenic was also drafted that year (5th round) and was playing regularly in Dallas last season after we lost him on waivers.
I am sure Danekyo had a say in who got the job, I watches some of Spaulding college hockey calls and I liked it… I think he’ll do well. It’s going to be interesting who makes the team between Holtz, Zetterlund, and Thompson. The may have to move someone to make room (Bastian, Johnsson, Tatar)
I would love to see zetterlund on the third line with boqvist and palat and holtz on the second line with nico and bratt. I think with all the training holtz is doing he’s definitely going to be on a line with bratt. Also I think zetterlund with palat and boqvist would literally be the best fit for all three players it’s good to have a veteran on a line with two up and coming kids. Also I believe that third line will be very gritty and clutch in the regular season and in the playoffs
Zetterlund reminds me of Blake Coleman he is a physical specimen and is a late bloomer
