Next up, we are going to talk about how advertisements are ruining the sport of hockey, but first, let me tell you about Bet Online!
I don't think Soderblom has ever played center.
I'm with Brian on the ads, but $10 million per year means the players get half and cap goes up.
Does Bentley moonlight as a model for a funeral home? How does a person get whiter than paper? Buy a sun lamp, dude.
I hope they dont have the ads on jerseys that we buy. I not paying for a jersey to advertise for someone
I disagree with Scotty it is a big deal when you have teams like The Red Wings who have had the same jerseys for almost 100 years. If they slap an ad on the front any ad is going to be noticeable on Red. First we have to deal with shitty gambling ads everywhere now we have to deal with jersey ads? This is starting to get out of hand.
NHL revenue is massively growing, this will be the cap on advertisements as they really are just copying the NBA. If anything 2-3 years from now helmet ads may be gone and it might just be jersey ads that teams decide if they want or not
The idea of the Red Wings raising the cup with a stupid Meijer ad on their helmet is just tacky. There is a point where fans will just turn the channel or tune out the NHL. Who wants to be reminded of Greed while watching a game.
To me, the wheel on the front of the shirt is the advertisement and it gets diminished by other advertisements being around it. I don’t like to see the team diminished; the team loses identity.
Have you ever observed the uniforms of some of the European teams ; true visual vomit ?
When y’all going back to 5 episodes a week?
There’s no such thing as an overreaction to the ads on jerseys. Watch as this leads to SHL style jerseys and ads plastered on every piece of equipment in the next ten years. The Hab’s historic franchise is over, meet the new Montreal RBC’s. Fuck bettman for allowing teams to desecrate their uniforms.
The argument of "you'll get used to it" is exactly the problem. It's like Brian said, it's a foot in the door gradual progression and each time along the way if people say Oh it's just one more thing, you'll get used to it … that's how you end up with eyesore SHL jerseys. If a team wants fans to be OK with it, they should put 100% of the ad money towards stadium improvements every year
They are spitting on the history of our Jersey and I will NEVER buy an advertised jersey
Brian Fisher, I million percent agree with you about ads on sweaters and helmets! It's sacrilegious!
I can’t wait to get my Phil Kessel Built Bar Cookie Dough Puff Jersey
Ads on jerseys?
What do you expect in a Fascist dictatorship?
People are lazy so they take over everything.
Much worse on the way!
Great job America! 👍
Do you guys know how or where to watch the prospect tournament?
Cossa is going to be fine, he’s in phenomenal hands and he did just win the WHL championship, he had a A+ season with Edmonton, and I’ve seen some wings fans downing him and claiming we should’ve went after wallstedt….cossa is a blue chipper, he’s massive, and he’s in the hands of probably the best GM in sports who knows and has proved he knows player development like the back of his hand, and I think when it’s all said and done in 20 years we’re going to look back and say cossa was better than wallstedt, wallstedt may be the more NHL ready goalie but cossa’s potential in way higher than wallstedt, and I think cossa has the advantage as far as the quality of organization that he plays for, I just don’t get the Cossa doubt, this kid is going to be money when he gets his shot.
Years ago, ads appeared on the ice. Then the white boards got plastered with ads. Last year or two, the sacriledge of ads on the helmets. Digital ads that change by period just inside the blue line. Enough! Nobody is buying this shit anyway. Just stop!
they better not put useless ass ads on a jersey period !
