  1. This move is HUGE for the Bruins going forward toward the playoffs. The Bruins are already one of the hottest teams in the NHL, and this move could push them over the top and really challenge Tampa Bay.

  2. I was totally thinking this is a horrible deal… then you bring up that abysmal draft class of Bruins.. yeah we should throw away most of our drafts as Bruins suck for the most part at drafting. As even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while..

  3. Another concern I have is that ESPN's Top 100 list didn't have Lindholm ranked at all, but the Bruins are paying him as if he was. Watched some highlights and I am not impressed. I'm starting to not like this trade at all.

  4. Nice move. In addition to a legit top 4 defenseman, the Bruins D corps just got a lot bigger with Carlo, Forbort, and Lindholm on the back end.

  5. Great move, smart trade…been awhile for Sweeny, I guess he has a little sense after all

  6. Vaakaneinen could not crack the Bruins lineup, Moore was a 7th D and was often hurt. I never heard of Lindholm. The draft picks are irrelevant as Sweeney would likely pick guys who are not NHL caliber.

  7. Trade deadline every year reads the same. Top teams bulk up as much as they can and The bruins get MAYBE 1 good guy every three years like this. Jacobs doesn't like paying playoff bonuses. 2011 was a fluke. he wants a first round or second round exit every year and Sweeney has given him that, much like Harry did for decades.

  8. I used to think you were a pretty surface level fan with limited knowledge other than just watching the team, but watching how you understand trade markets, team's futures and wants, and how they arrived here at this price shows me I underestimated you a lot. You hit a lot of nails on the head most fans don't see the nuances of in negotiation and the status of other teams' and their wants as well in the next 5 years the way we consider our own. Great work on the video and good move for both teams with the extension.

  9. I like Lindholm, but feel like the Bruins gave up slightly too much.

  10. The addition of Hampus Lindholm (height, weight, intelligence, excellent raise) is a very good move for Don Sweeney even if a very long term contract can always be risky. From now on, Charlie McAvoy will no longer be the only general in defense. Now that the defensive deficiency has just been rectified, it remains to find a level attacker for the second line, to replace Erik Haula who, although an honest worker, does not have the caliber to support David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall. Of course, because of the price paid for Lindholm, we must immediately cross out the names of Tomas Hertl and Rickard Rakell whose contractual requirements will exceed the financial and draft capacities of the Bruins. What other names matching management's expectations remain on the Don's shortlist? In my opinion, only two. Conor Garland and Max Domi. In my opinion, of these two players, Conor Garland is clearly the more talented; however, Max Domi represents a good compromise. Probably much less expensive to acquire, he has the speed, the vision of the game and a "sandpaper" side that is missing on offense (aside from Brad Marchand). That said, Domi is rightly criticized for not being constant and regular in his efforts. Maybe the Bruins DNA would have a positive effect on him. I even think that in the event of the acquisition of Domi, this one should take the place of Jake DeBrusk on the first line; DeBrusk, thus switching to second. But it would all depend on DeBrusk's performance. Therefore, I don't think the Bruins will trade DeBrusk before the offseason because Sweeney would create an even bigger hole in his offense…unless he finds a way to acquire two level forwards. Two level attackers and without emptying the team of its prospects (in my opinion, exchanging prospects would be a very bad idea)? It seems impossible to me. On the other hand, a Max Domi… and a Nicolas Deslauriers to intimidate and ensure the physical protection of the leaders of the team; why not? It is factually possible. In addition, Deslauriers positioned in front of the opposing net is to drive goalies and defenders crazy. The answer: this Monday, February 21, 2022, 3 p.m. (eastern time).

  11. Swayman is going to have to pull a Ken Dryden if the Bruins have any chance in the playoffs. Andrew Raycroft ran out of gas in 2004 and I'm afraid Swayman might do the same. Lindholm will help get them to the playoffs, but if they have to play Tampa or Florida….uh oh.
