  1. Man these comments are terrible… not a Sabres fan but I hope he signs there and helps them get out of their drought.

  2. Colton Point is a goalie drafted by the NHL, played in the CCHL (same league and team as Levi) and also played for team Canada. You would think a pro like Berube would know that. 👋

  3. Do many casual fans here. They don't see how the sabres are being built. They will be good in a couple years.

  4. As a sabres fan, im not mad that Devin Levi decided to go back. Im happy for him. I dont think Levi is NHL ready just yet, I believe he feels the same way. I do think he will be a sabre and he will be our number 1.

  5. Casuals look at CHL awards and NCAA awards and wonder how or why doesn't a player go pro at 20 years old. The reality is amateur stats or awards mean absolutely nothing. It's about skillset. Anyone who has followed the game of hockey knows goalies take a long time to develop. 20 year old goalies in the NHL isn't the norm unless you are a phenom like Carter Hart. Levi is not a phenom. He played on a stacked Northwestern team. Yes, I've done my research. Please don't mention that 5 game overated WJC tourney either. He's not ready for pro hockey. He wasn't even used in the olympics. I think the problem here..and it's mostly from Canadians..is you place too much emphasis on stats from these midget tournaments that mean absolutely nothing. I feel it's a national hobby or something. You are all doing it now with Connor Bedard. Anyways, when you are 14-16 years old you can be really good at a sport and totally fall of the next year. This is because everyone's bodies are still growing and everyone is changing that it's all a crapshoot. This would be comparable to americans getting hyped over high school football kids which essentially doesn't happen. Americans don't bother with football prospects till they essnetially graduate from college and form opinions then. The moral of the story here is this…stop looking at amateur numbers. Levi didn't sign because he's not ready

  6. As a Sabres fan I am glad he is making his own decision. If he is going back to school because he feels that it is the best path for him and his maturity. I believe he will be a Buffalo Sabres. If he decides not to be a and feels that he is bigger than the game and it’s traditions So be it. We want players that want to be here.

  7. Just an FYI, there's been plenty of guys drafted to the NHL from the CCHL. Colton Point was drafted out of Carleton Place aswell, and played for the Canadian World Junior Team. It's not major junior, the USHL, or even the BCHL, but its arguably the best tier 2 Jr. A league in Eastern Canada.

  8. He was NOT a part of the NCAA championship team. Northeastern has yet to win a national title…

  9. the sabres are in the perfect position to be a playoff contender but goalie issues hold them back, if we keep tokarski and another old goalie like anderson, itl be another wasted year, hopefully portillo or UPL come up. also all these idiots in the comment saying he should wait out his years to go somewhere else, its hilarious, he already said hed like to start his career in Buffalo

  10. Erik Portillo is heading back too.. Not looking good for us Sabres fans with Levi and Portillo approaching free agency. This sucks

  11. As a Sabres fan, I've lived through many years of disappointment. There is no doubt in my mind that during the summer of 2024 he will sign with another team, just like Cal Petersen did.

  12. He didn't want to sit in Rochester for 2-4 years. He will sign next year or the year after when he has a chance to make the nhl. Just like Portillo, same reasons

  13. As a pessimistic Sabres fan, I can say Buffalo is finally moving in the right direction, for too many reasons to list here. But we desperately need good goaltending! D-corp and forwards are both shaping up well. If Levi and Portillo are just taking a wait-and-see approach, hopefully next season they see a much improved team, decent coaching and a stabilized front office. If we don't sign at least one of them next spring, then they'll go free agent and we're screwed.

  14. New GM and co-GM Kevyn Adams and Jason Karamanos have things going better in Buff. Owners have seen success with Bills when they step back, so they seem to be staying out of Sabres' hair finally. But one huge disadvantage that Buffalo will always have no matter what: a star player can only earn a tiny fraction of the endorsement income in Buff that a star can earn in NY, Boston, LA and some other cities.

  15. They have Portillo & Levi both a real good goalie prospects . Who ever signs with buff the other will probably walk most likely

  16. I would have went back to school and finished my degree. You can’t hope you’ll make the nhl and just blow away your degree, you need a backup plan set in place in case your nhl dream isn’t successful

  17. Cause he wants one more shot at a title and education is very important for after hockey, he wants to play for Buffalo, he has said so. Please sit down haters

  18. Levi going back for his third year is a wise move. The difference between the NHL and college hockey is huge.Let him mature as a player and as an adult before throwing him in the soup.Hell,I have dress shoes older then him.
