  1. Pull the trigger- let Orleans’ finest In PD take care of business

  2. As a Sens fan I'm all for giving up 2 picks and a top prospect.
If Zaitsev is willing to go to Arizona I would do it for a younger top 4 guy
Who is open to playing in Ottawa with term still on his current contract that doesn't happen very often.

  3. With out knowing the prospect it’s hard to say for sure, it seems like a fair deal but the sens must be holding off because he really isn’t the perfect fit for what they need. He is a upgrade for sure but a shutdown RD would be a better fit IMO. With that said also pinto would be a hard no for me on that deal too.

  4. by giving up Zaitsev to acquire Chychrun means somebody else on the Sens (besides Chychrun) is going to have to block shots, hits, etc. Mr Chychrun's performance does not include those to Mr Zaitsev's performance (although Hits are not at Mr Methot's level, the blocked shots excelled Mr Methot's);

  5. Not Pinto as big Centre's are hard to find. Any other forwards or any dman other than Sanderson !!

  6. Two firsts and anyone not named Ridley Greig or Jake Sanderson (obviously). Make it happen

  7. Marc Methot DID start doing analyst work for TSN during Sens games intermissions. So, yes. You can call him an analyst.

  8. Depends on who the “high end prospect” is, and whether or not the 2023 1st round pick is lottery protected.

  9. Lego forgot to mention: Chychrun prefers playing on his off side.

    Chabot Chychrun
    Sanderson Zub
    Holden Hamonic
    Brännström

Edit: Personally, I wouldn’t immediately throw Sanderson onto the second pair straight away. But that would be the idea going forward. Also, not sure if Brännström has any trade value in a Chychrun trade (or any other trade to bring back some picks).

  10. Have you seen Greig at the WJC?!? He cannot be traded. I’d rather part with pinto, and that’s saying a lot. Jarventie is having a great WJC too (statistically) maybe he can be the chip that gets this done.

    Jarventie
    JBD
    2023 2nd
    2024 1st
    2024 2nd (Washington’s)
    Zaitsev

    For

    Chychrun
    2024 5th

  11. You did not just drop pinto's name in that bucket. Nope, pinto's name shows up in a trade, ottawa walks away

  12. Zaitsev doesn't move the puck well and he's not physical. Hate when you tubers try and act like they know the player when they really don't.

  13. As a wings fan it still hurts talking about Chychrun. I wanted him so bad. But Ken Holland thought it would be a great idea to trade down just to free up Datysuks money and give it to Frans Neilson. 😭😭😭😭 I fantasize about the thought of him and seider on the same line rn

  14. i think its a good deal if for no other reason than to relieve the 479 coyote fans who must be just as tired of hearing about chychrun trades as canuck fans are about miller. but, every time i see millers name in a youtube video, i must admit my heatbeat clicks up a few beats even in the dog days of august.

  15. Sens fan here. At first I thought it seemed like a lot, but when you break it down

1st + prospect is not a lot to give up for Chychrun, even if it’s Greig/Pinto. 24 years old and under control for 3years at 4.6M. Even if he’s not truly elite, he’s still a really good number 3 and a huge upgrade.

Dumping Zaitsev for a 1st is the rest of that deal. Seems like a lot but I believe Nemeth got dumped for a 2nd and 3rd and he makes like 2.5M.

If they could stagger the picks (23 and 25) and get protection on the 23 1st I’d do it. Maybe they take Järventie as the prospect after his world juniors and it be a home run

  16. Ottawa is still too young to think about trading 1st round picks. They already lost out on Bowen Byrum, what do they wanna do make it Bedard too.

  17. The trade for Chychrun could hurt the Senators like the trade for Erik Karlsson hurt the San Jose Sharks.

  18. Well considering the Sens added Giroux, Devrincat, and Talbot and are in on Chychrun, the first round picks will probably be just 15-20 so idm. Just hoping its bot a Matt Duchene situation

  19. im okay with it but i wouldnt give for a prospect ridley gregg cause he is havng a great world juioners

  20. For everyone worried about 2 first round picks and a prospect and Zaitsev for chychrun what is wrong with you? if you expect Ottawa to be a playoff contender within the next 3 years (Chychrun's remaining contract) then you can look at the 1st round pick to be middle to later rounds. with the prospects Ottawa has so many its impossible to have them all play. This is why you build your prospects for when you are ready to compete you can use them as assets. maybe have in the clause the 2023 1st round pick is lottery protected and would forfiet the 2025 pick and add a 4th round pick with it. I would try to keep grieg and JBD for Ottawa and the prospect/player to trade either have Brannstrom, Lassi or Boucher.

  21. Maybe it's just all of my Senators PTSD talking, but I kind of want to see how this team plays together first before making such a huge move.

  22. If Arizona wants to reach the cap floor and avoid becoming competitive, Z is their man. He provides a $4.5m boost toward the cap floor while costing only $2.5m in actual salary. And he's not going to play well and move them up the standings to hurt their draft odds.

  23. I'm all for that trade even though it's not what we need that PP would be the best in the league if not very close

  24. Personally I think greig and pinto are untouchable JBD or lassi Thompson would be a prospect I think we can give with similar value, even if you need to add a 3rd rounder to make it work

  25. Cam Talbot ….upgrade..lmao R U serious?I wouldn't even want Talbot…period not at ANY price.I love Chychrun but that asking price is too high.

  26. Cam Talbot ….upgrade..lmao R U serious?I wouldn't even want Talbot…period not at ANY price.I love Chychrun but that asking price is too high.

  27. Pinto and Greig are untradable, word is they want a goalie prospect from Ottawa too so I could see them going for both Fins Merilainen and Jarventie

  28. If Ottawa didn't have Jake Sanderson I'd pay that price in a heartbeat. I'd like to see if Sanderson can take a step because if he can I'd say this might be an unnecessary trade. That being said I suppose if Sanderson does take a step you can turn around and trade Chychrun in two years once Sanderson's ELC is up if you need the cap space and probably recoup a good portion of that cost and this really bridges the gap between now and then in terms of quality of defense. One of Chychrun's biggest assets is his comparatively cheap contract for the upside he brings and that will always be valuable.

  29. Price is too high , Dorion will be patient , and make a deal ot will be expensive but Ottawa is serious about making a return to the Stanley Cup Game . Go sens go !!!

  30. Honestly any trade that gets zaitsev off the roster is ok except maybe this trade. I’d rather stand pat and send zaitsev to Belleville

  31. 1st in 24 a 2nd in 25 roby jareventie nikita zaitsev and 3rd in 23
