Let me know your thoughts on this move by the Sharks, will Kane Challenge? He could still sign with another team prior to March 21st deadline and play in playoffs if someone wants to give him a chance.

WOWsa!!! This is indeed breaking news—-unconditional waivers for contract termination is a serious move here, it spells the end of Kane's NHL career, for certain. Sadly, doesn't look like he's ever going to play major league hockey anywhere based on all these issues. The Cap relief for the Sharks will help them rebuild and move past all the drama of the past couple of years. IMHO, Kane doesn't have a case for a grievance, given his multiple infractions regarding Covid protocols ,and other issues–I really don't see the NHLPA wanting any part of this mess anymore—Also at 2 years as a TSH member, it's been an honor to help the Channel grow, and, boy, it's been an interesting and fun past couple of seasons, with all the changes the sport has had to endure . Here's to many more years of TSH reporting.

Kane will be in the KHL next season.
If his contract does get terminated and another team can sign him for 1 mil a year. There will be a GM take a chance. Everybody was shocked the sharks gave him the contract they did and that was Kanes last chance to really straighten his life out. The man himself is a lost cause but you can't deny that he is a phenomenal hockey player. The man could be top 10 in the league and probably a hall of fame player if he could have just focused on hockey for 15 years.

Don't be so hard on Evander. He's not at fault for ruining his career & all the dirtball things he's done in his adult life. No, it's all the racist citizens of Winnipeg's fault. Don't you remember?
Evander Kane will bounce back because he is 30 years old and a top notch hockey player. But his legal woes (over 6 big lawsuits, now another one against Sharks) keep increasing and he cannot settle with his ex-wife as she wants spousal support and custody of their child, which he is fighting to avoid. Kane does not settle lawsuits due to his ego and penchant for trouble, a hard fate for such an excellent scoring fighter in hockey, an entertainer.
Kane's future? More lawsuits in America. But I suspect that he will try Russia or the KHL for 2 year to earn big money and avoid the law garnishing his Russian wages. But his daughter is not going to Russia with him, and his custody dispute will likely keep him in California for the foreseeable future. Endless lawsuits and no more work in the NHL, until he turns his life around, quits gambling and becomes the hockey player he used to be with real consistency, not the Flash looking for his next card game.
I predict some Purgatory for Evander Kane for several years in the KHL, or elsewhere such as AHL, and then he returns and plays for Vancouver Canucks and finds himself, after being lost in the wilderness. Kane can surprise everyone, and yet his disobedience and individualism makes him so much more of a gamble than any other player of his generation. Kane shoots, he scores another lawsuit is what I say.

Not wishing this by any means but, with his attitude I would not be surprised that we hear that he ends up found dead in a hotel room due to heroin overdose. Very evil thing to say but Evander seems to be one of those players that cant control himself or his selfish actions. This man needs an intervention quickly and some serious counselling. Such a waste of talent. This man is very good on the ice, but no discipline off ice. Thinking he can get away with anything with no repercussions. I bet he blames everyone except himself.
I am certainly clearly not exonerating. Kane for any of his wrongful actions at all ! Granted I do not know her,But I hope his vindictive "ex wife" is finally satisfied. Feel the most sad for any children involved. What a shame, I truly wish all parties involved a fast healing process
San Jose would have suffer a small cap recapture. There was a bit of front loading in his contract. Evander will go to the KHL, where some of his pay will be off the books.
The NHL and the Sharks obviously found out the gambling allegations were true and probably covered it up. This is their way of punishing him for that. It's going on in all of pro sports but his wife just happened to spill the beans on this guy. I wonder if he'll get signed by anyone ever again.

so… i'm not an e.kane fan. but, what are the sharks trying to terminate kane's contract for exactly? him faking a covid passport or him being a richard? i am pretty sure being a dick isn't grounds to have your contract terminated. i don't think being a womanizing, degenerate gambler is cause to terminate his contract. i am pretty sure he is not the only one of those that is currently playing in the nhl (anyone catch the horse races?). i'm not a lawyer, but i would be highly surprised if even faking a passport would be grounds to terminate kane's contract. my money is on a lawsuit being filed, with the sharks ultimately (agreeing to a settlement) paying up in the end. i personally think the sharks are scapegoating kane in an attempt to alleviate some of their cap mismanagement. but who knows, i could be wrong. i guess the sharks are going to roll the dice (get it) and argue they are well within their rights to terminate kane's contract, only time will tell.

I'm so tired of comments about Kane's elite skills and great play on the ice. This guy is an anchor around the neck of any hockey team. His defense is poor, he does not play the body when required because most players out-size him. Most all of his goals are garbage, rebound tap-ins around the net following the efforts of his team mates. When able to get free in break aways on net he shoots too late and does not score. One of these guys who skates fast but does not have the skill level to make plays average NHL players pull off with their eyes closed. Worst of all is his uncontrolled temper. All teams know they can goad him into a cheap penalty. He led the Sharks in penalty minutes each season. Often these power play goals mean the difference between winning and losing games to the detriment of all the hard work his team mates have put in. His gambling addiction is also a career killer on its own. Nope, he's done in pro hockey and rightly so.
