Blackwood and Campbell works for me. I would be very comfortable going into next season with those two. Especially with Nico Dawes not far away.
Devils goalie signings remind me of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers in Harry Potter. I feel like the next one we sign is going to be a secret Werewolf, and abandon us when we need him most.
This is probably an unpopular opinion but what if we took on Mrazek maybe some salary retained and received something else for doing it..I know he didn't have a great season but could bounce back
I think every Leaf fan as well as his team mates love Jack, but his great wins vs losses ratio was largely because the Leafs tend to be able to put up a lot of goals. Jack did have an amazing start to the season but the wheels fell off after a while and he was pretty much one of the worse in the league part way through the season.
To sum it up I believe a lot of the Leaf wins this past season were in spite of Jack Campbell rather than because of him. At this point I wouldn't be offering him 5 million over a very long contract, because to me he hasn't proven it yet. Maybe 2.8 million over 2 years and see if he can prove he deserves the big money after that.
I would be okay with Campbell and that signing for Bratt seems about right.
I had a dream last night that Fitzgerald acquired both JT Miller and Matt Tkachuk. He sent Zacha and Ty Smith to Vancouver for. Miller and then the 2nd overall pick as part of a package for Tkachuk. Call me crazy but I think is thinking big this off-season.
Id rather go 1- Campbell and 2- Berneir 3- Blackwood (until he gets back to normal again) I also read Tarasenko, Malkin, and Letang are on watch by us as well. Bratt needs to be back next season. As for the 3 I stated before, id say we should go for Tarasenko or Malkin as that leadership up front since our backend already has potential. But, we shall see what happens…
if im the leafs i would let campbell walk and trade for a true number 1 , too me that would be John Gibson.
I'd pass on Campbell, there are so many better options available for FA.

Leafs are a good team and that Lyubushkin guy and Giordano really helped to shore up the defence. Campbell might sign for under five to stay with a contender, ha! Short term 1 or 2 year?

Hope they don’t over pay for Jack , he isn’t a starter, and will never be a true starter and is mentally weak ….. he will amaze you and totally disgust you in the same game. Some team will over pay for him but it won’t be the leafs
We must get better in all areas. However it all starts with the goalie. We MUST play better. Signing Campbell looks like an upgrade. We need another top D to add to help out our goalie. We need another real grinder. And a star forward to play with Jack for life.. we need to spend money. Bratt is a good resign. I like keeping the 2nd pick but I am fine with moving it to get better in net or lock in a solid forward to play with Jack.

We have the ammunition to recitfy the mistka we made two years ago when we drafted HOLTZ and NOT YAROSLAV ASKAKROV….DO YOU WANT A TRUE GENERATIONAL GOALTENDER OR THIS JOKE THAT COULD NOT WIN WITH THE LAUGHS??? OMG. We had Martin Brodeur, did he not prove to you that goaltending is the most important position??? ASKAROV WHO TOOK OUT JACK HUGHES USA TEAM SINGLE HANDEDLY…NASHVILLE DRAFTED HIM, THEY KNOW GOALTENDING. NICO, AKIRA, BLACKWOOD …ASKAROV IS BETTER THAN ALL OF THEM COMBINED. 6.33 for Bratt would be a HUGE BARGAIN. The guy was tremendous this season. Point a game player at age 23 who dominated at even strength. That is the definition of projectable.
Like him a lot as a Leafs fan, doubt I'd like him if he have a big cap hit with term. Good gamble though.
I hope Kenzie shakes off the injuries and can remain healthy i feel the injuries definitely capped his playing ability and the mental pressure that comes with injuries in the big stage
the Devils need defense! It's been abysmal for years. With present defense even Hasek and Brodeur both in net would let 3-4 goals every game. Get the fucking defense together and then look for a tender!!
