They may be in the hot seat but I expect another cold streak from them both tbh.
With Dickinson, there's a chance he comes back and rebounds. I don't see that in Tucker Poolman because I've never seen anything from him in Winnipeg that suggested he was a 4-5 D man in the first place. The problem is that he's being paid like one. If you've got a $2.5 million D-man in the bottom pairing, he'd better be terrific defensively and be able to play top 4 minutes. Unfortunately, that's not Poolman's game I don't think and between him and Myers, that D gets pretty expensive and rough after OEL and Hughes. I don't know why they want to put the top 2 D together anyway. Then there's a tremendous drop off in quality after the top pairing and things get a bit scary. Schenn has been excellent, but that's while playing with Hughes. Can he still be effective on a bottom pairing or with Myers?
I wish Canucks would just put them on waivers & give young players a shot!
Poolman remains in the mix with Burroughs and Schenn to nail the final two spots behind Myers. One sits in the press box. while Rathbone, Dermott and Wolanin fight for the one spot on the left side.
They should rehire Benning…. just so they can FIRE him again
Fully expect Poolman to start the year in Abbotsford. He needs to play major minutes to regain whatever form he once had.
