  1. If the Kings bounce back this year somehow, you can count on the sharks turning into pumpkins and missing the playoffs. The shitey division they are in is the onlt thing saving their asses.

  2. I see San Jose as the 1st WC in the West. Don't forget they would have been 1st in the division last year if it wasn't for their complete fall at the end of the season and the team this year is only slightly worse.

  3. The Sharks will get in but they are certainly on a downfall… Plus their prospect pool is weak. To me they have a very uncertain future ahead of them

  4. I'm always amazed when players leave their teams that they've been with for soooo long. Face of the franchise. Whether free agent or traded, voluntary or involuntary. Like Shane Doan for example. Sad. Sad.

  5. I think the Central is sending 5 teams to the playoffs and the top 3 in the Pacific will get in. Anaheim and Edmonton will be 1 and 2 in the Pacific. For 3rd in the Pacific, it will be between Calgary and San Jose.

  6. I can't see this team making playoffs. Losing Marleau and Schlemko hurts a lot. I can see Donskoi and Boedker bouncing back but it won't be enough. The central will be sending 5 teams into the playoffs, and I highly doubt the Sharks can crack top 3 in the pacific when the Ducks, Oilers and Flames are there. I'm not a fan of their prospect pool now that Goldobin is gone too.

  7. They ain't making the playoffs. Too many teams are emerging and all I'm seeing out of the Sharks is regression. Sorry to say it but the Flames, Stars, Oilers, Jets are all getting better their only hope would be a wild card spot which I can't see happening

  8. – The Sharks are getting older, & they will definitely miss Marleau's presence both on the ice & in the dressing room. San Jose could still make the playoffs…albeit, they will have to fight their way just to get in, & probably won't make it very far in the playoffs anyway. 2016 was their big moment in the sun when they reached the Cup Finals for the 1st time, but now they look they're trending downward again, & in a Western conference where teams like the Flames, Oilers, & Predators are emerging, that's not good news for the Sharks going forward.

  9. If you have players in your league that are 40 or older, an average age of 29 doesn't seem like that big a deal.

  10. The Sharks are still gonna get in despite their aged players, i think the new young guys will have a jump this year because i think they realize now that they can't keep relying on the top 2 lines anymore. They gotta switch up the line up with a veteran and a young guy on one each pretty much i think that will be a good option for them to get the goal scoring they need from them. I think they're still a playoff team mostly because no one else in the Pacific is too good, but thier not a Cup contending team because of this age issue.

  11. its exciting i think it could go either way. if the young players like meier and labanc can fill the hole and develope to nhl players, they are a competetive team. if they fail, they can start a rebuild

  12. If we actually give our young guys some ice time this year we wouldn't be so damn paranoid about our whole team going out the window with their age…

We gotta fortify for the future.
