  1. Honestly this trade disgusted me then and it disgusts me now. The literal only reason we got Jonathan drouin was because he was a quebequer and possibly a top 6 forward. Sergachev was an amazing Defensemen with us and had so much potential. We got screwed with this trade. Hopefully the new habs organization will learn a lesson from this horrifying trade

  2. I say keep him until his contract expires at the end of the year. Don’t buy him out and push really hard to get anything in a trade. Honestly if we get a bag of pucks for him I’d say it’s a win

  3. only 27? It's unfortunate but his "prime" is done. If it hasn't happened by now then chances are it won't ever happen.

  4. I feel like even right after the trade Habs fan decided the faith of Drouin’s reign in Montreal before he even put a foot on the ice in Bleu-Blanc-Rouge, so many people just didn’t even hive him a chance and it clearly got to him… I feel sad that the media and fan pressure kind of crushed him, I still believe in him, I think he will be a great 2nd line winger so I hope he gets it going this season and we can sign him for cheap

  5. Sadly as a Habs fan it is sickening that a large part of the fans would Trade
Guhle for another French player that would turn out as useless as Drouin.

  6. I disagree that Sergachev is a set in stone 3 – 4 defenceman. On any other team in the league (except for maybe a team like the Avs) Sergachev would be a 1 – 2, its just that he plays for a team with multiple amazing defenceman

  7. I still remember writing a rant (about 3-4 paragraphs worth) on Drouin and why he needed to be shipped out of Tampa for a big d-man. Less than 1 month later, Tampa pulls the trigger and grabs Sergy, and I couldn't have been happier.

Shame things haven't panned out with Drouin, but it seemed like he only played when he wanted to, which wasn't every game, sometimes not even every-other-game, when he was in Tampa.

Our farm system (Syracuse) was so deep with forwards, we didn't exactly need him here, and everything has turned out phenomenal for Tampa.

Hopefully, the Habs have a good plan. St. Louis helped Caufield find her game again, maybe he can with Drouin. Ya never know. Whatever happens, best of luck up north.

  8. Sergachev played in the cup finals, Drouin didn't.
When the team needed him most, he vanished.
Sergachev and Tkachuk on the 2020-2021 Habs and that's a 25th cup right there.
