I had stopped following the Canucks. I no longer enjoyed watching their games, and from where I sat, they didn't appear to enjoy playing them. Benning was at the perpetual shoulder shrug stage, and Green seemed to have run up the white flag of surrender. Then Clean Sweep day. It's been just four games, the team isn't perfect, but Boudreau seems to have given them heart. I am so glad for them.
Just what we needed – a couple of Grandpas. We had dad-types before, but we needed grandpas who could come in and stabilize the team, settle everyone down and let the players know that everything will be all right. Grandpa Jim and Grandpa Bruce have got this. It's not a long term solution, but having grandparents isn't either.

Let's face it here in Vancouver: Green was way in over his head. Rutherford the ole pro would never throw anybody under the bus but I am! Benning lost his job because of Green while Rutherford steps in with many good pieces in place with a solid foundation to work from. Boudreau will have this club up to a respectable .500 clean up job by New Year's Day!
What makes Demko a franchise goalie?

Rutherford's got a great resume and what the Canucks need. He'll truly evaluate that team and having Boudreau as coach might be even a better move.

The Canucks aren't fast though. They've moved the puck around better since Boudreau, which creates more offensive opportunities.
