Malkin would be a good gamble on a short term deal we need veterans and scoring and I believe he checks both boxes not to mention he’s a Center so if Steve can get the deal done would really boost the teams offense and the cap doesn’t hurt us with any number value
I prefer Kadri over Malkin because of the potential return Kadri could offer just because he is 31 and Malkin already 35
There's no way Steve will pay that kind of money for Kadri. Malkin might make more sense if it's a reasonable contract. But I would like to see them get a defenseman for sure.
I think we should pick up Jan Ruta or Calvin De Haan for the defensive spot
one big superstar not gonna break the bank for the wings on a 1-2 yr contract 🤷♂️👍
I know today I've heard Trocheck today
Would love to see Malkin sign with the wings he would be a great influence on the young guys
I really like the options Steve And the Red Wings have I hope he makes a big signing Malkin on a 2 year deal would be a game changer. Imagine that rivalry again with the Pens.
Malkin would be great, but idk what he gains by coming here
i would love to have # 71 wearing the wing wheel he would be a huge help at a cheaper price.
Malkin is not a person we need, either to fill the necessary Cap floor or use resources. Malkin is 35 years old and is prone to injury, see how many matches he has played since 2010 and onwards, you should be able to figure out what they are talking about here.
Of those that are available, there are lots of young people between 25/27 who would be clearly better to sign ..
Please get Zadorov, Ben Charot, or Erik Gudbranson. We need a very big and mean defenseman who can fight
@Red Wing Nation Could you add a customization block for the black Jersey? The Red one with the skyline has it, but not the black one. I really like them and would like to have both customized. Thanks!
Trade for Tkachuk
It would be cool if gaudreu came by . lol I know him and larkin are buddies from usa hockey.
Malkin is the best value, for the Wings. He's the total package, and could bring that Wings a cup.
" Just Say'en!"
I'll be sickened if any cherished Avs player goes to such a disgraceful team.
Qualifying Filip Zadina was a smart move and is very low risk. He and Jakob Vrana play well together and have the chemistry for a great boost on the second line. Hope both stay healthy and get a good start to the season. As for the summer of 2023 and Zadina? he does not have a lot of leverage for higher salary due to his stats, he could be an affordable bridge deal for 2 years. Filip may want long term.
Trading Zadina at TDL probably will not garner much in return. Have to ride out this trial I suppose.
How bout Kubalik or Strome from Chicago? Wouldn’t it make more sense to sign someone that’s young and cheaper than Malkin / kadri
I think Strome is the most likely candidate.
Yzerman would be interested in signing either Dylan Strome or Colin White, both are 25 years old and are in Detroit's time-line.
I'm pretty sure Red Wings are $9m under the cap floor so regardless they going to have to write some checks here soon.
Don’t think they need to make a big splash on offense. Defense would be good to add a big piece
Strome would be a good signing. Kadri and Malkin are head cases.
I hate to be the guy that spits in the soup.
But I see Moritz Seider as future Red Wings captain.Maybe 1-2 yrs out.
While Larkin is a great guy and a good captain nice in the community, he is a second line center at best.
If I was to move him and I'm not saying I need to move him but I want to move him at his peak value. Again not that we need to.
kadri is only that good because he was playing with those guys in Colorado.
I don't believe he pulls those numbers anywhere else.
Who I'm really hoping for and I feel are pretty reasonable: Palat, Vatrano, Lemieux, Strome, Zadorov, and/or Nutivaara
Andrew Copp would be a great signing imo. He would be our 2C until Kasper is ready. He's also from Michigan so I'm sure he would love to play for Detroit
Copped a jersey! #LGRW
Trochek is my top FA hope.
Sign Malkin for 3 years and sign Zadorov to partner with Hronek.
Yes Malkin is injury prone and older but he is still a point per game player. He had more points than Suter in almost half the games…let that one sink in. Malkin also had more points this season in less games than Copp's best season, Strome only had 13 more points than Malkin while playing 33 games more with Panarin and this was very close to his career high, Trocheck got 9 more points in 40 games more than Malkin. Kadri career average in points is around 50 points and that is more likely what he is going to put up for the next few years than the career year he had this season. Do we really want an 7 or 8 million long term deal for a 50 point producer? Malkin makes the most sense to me because offensively he is just way better than any of the others and he is willing to sign short term. 3 years gives enough time for Kasper to eventually come to the NHL and start earning his way up the lineup so he isn't rushed. The others guys will all want 5+ years and what happens to them if Kasper beats them out in 3 years for the 2nd line role? You end up with an expensive 3rd line center that might cost you to move out to save salary.
Even with the addition of Zadorov, Yzerman will need to trade for a top pair defenseman for Seider. I say trade because there is nothing else on the UFA market for LD that are worth it. The only possible options i see are Sanheim/Provorov from Philly or Theodore/Martinez from Vegas. No i don't see Chychrun as an option. Personally i think he is overrated and Arizona wants way too much for him to be worth it.
I like zadorov. Gives us some size maybe some solid defense.
Onje Palat!! 🙌
Kadre can pick and choose where he will play next – why would he come to a team that may not make the playoffs for a couple more years?
Strome and Malkin!
GET THAT MALKIN TALK OUTTA HERE. He doesn't deserve to put on the winged wheel.
PALAT RUTTA or KULAK KADRI
sign edler and namestikov 1-2 years save cap.
Gimmie Trochek, Copp or Johnny Hockey
I would love see Strome
Stahl is a nice signing for the money and still has some game left. I'd am sure Steve will try to sign him to another 1 year deal. Kadri? No way, we don't need a max contract yet. If we look at past signings, Steve will sign solid players for 2 year deals at 2M/per. That's fine and gives the Wings room to finish the rebuild. We gain a lot of dead cap space back this year and lose some deadwood players signed to way too much money contracts by KH.
Johnny Gaudreau coming to Detroit, you heard it first
Andrew Coop close to signing
Andrew Copp signs, official
WELL, 3 nice new signings, all BIG, 2nd line Jets/Rangers Center and 2 D men, lefties to balance R/L shooting D men.
Stevie needs to go get a big tough guy to protect all our talent.
The day's of the enforcers aren't quite over and may see a uptick in enforcers again.
I think that Yzerman will get Copp, Perron, Matta and Cherot.
