  1. If foeghle and puli move out i want Oilers to give Bourgault a shot.
I think his upside is more than Holloway.

    3rd line holloway, Bourgault, McLeod
    4th line janmark, ryan, shore

  2. I do think foeghle needs another shot. He still had 12 goals and 30 points. Thats what a 3rd line player should be around at the least. I think he can do better this year. Im concerned Holloway
Isnt fast enough. I hope hes not a disappointment

  3. Now let's hope we can keep Evander Kane because with his grievance case I belive he could potentially go back to the sharks. I have no idea how that works so I could be wrong and we for sure have him.

  4. Aight I’m really happy with this lineup hopefully a scp contenders really wishing them the best of luck hopefully we can keep foegle and try to keep or get out Jesse but best of luck oilers!

  5. I agree with you there Patrick on the Foegle issue. I saw some really good plays made by him and he wasn't afraid to shoot the puck and when he did shoot it often was on net. JP on the other hand if he followed Kane's type of playstyle and use his size to get in front of the net and with some practice protecting the puck, improve the stick handling and picking the top corners without missing all together, JP would rack up a lot more points than he has in the past. I hate to say it but does the Finnish league (especially the minors) allow any aggressive physical checking and rushing on the net type plays?
JP is a beast and yet it is like he is scared to use his size and strength when he has possession of the puck. Sure, he can and will be physical when he's chasing a puck that has been dumped in but when he is bringing in the puck he tries to pull McDavid style stick handling through the defense and his hands aren't quick enough to pull it off.
If only he watched what Kane and Draisaitl do and prioritize protecting the puck when bringing it in and wait for a chance to either shoot or back pass to an open player, he would have much better results.
That's why Edmonton used him a lot more late season as a defensive forward during the PK and when the opposition was dominating. He could pretty much skate through other players and disrupt potential plays and fight for the puck then all he had to do is flip it to center ice.
At this point I don't really care if they make a trade moving Puljujarvi or decide to groom his game to be more proactive with Edmonton's playstyle. That decision is gonna have to be an in-house observation and if he is willing to put the time in to be more than just a extended stat supporter or grasp for the role of a player wanting some fan attention. I felt that although JP was helping to add points, I saw that the crowd and fans were reacting better when Mcleod and Yamamoto scored. Maybe that was just me.
    Finally, Tyson Barrie…..
Barrie needs to work on his blue line skills. If he could hold the puck inside the blue line better and tighten up his accuracy on shots from out there, Barrie would have a lot more support for staying in Edmonton. Bouchard has the "Bouch Bomb" title and he excels at a fast slap shot, but Barrie seems uncomfortable at shooting on net from the blue line.
All he would need to do is practice on that at home in the back yard with a little prep and a weighted plastic puck and appropriate surface to make it act like a normal puck on the ice.
Anyway, this comment turned into a novel but those are my feelings. The rest I will save until I see them on ice for a bit.

  6. JP is a good player but not a great player. He needs to work on his game, especially his shot and his edges .

  7. I'd love Jesse if he didn't see himself as more than he is. I believe he would be a real good third liner who eventually through hard work and dedication will jump into the top 6. Not now though he is a third liner imo. And I truly appreciate you calling Broberg…. Broberg 💛💛

  8. I hear wat ur saying about the goalies but I have faith in them I think Campbell and Skinner will be on fire 🔥 I know jack seen wat the team could do Inda playoffs I think he's the one that is going to take us all the way…I hope Jesse puljujarvi can improve this season and Yamamoto got a taste of the playoffs …lines will be awesome 👍

  9. I think if you send Tyler Benson Jesse Pullijarvi and samarukov to Chicago either in a 3 way deal or just getting draft picks back from Chicago that would be the ideal situation

  10. Interesting season upcoming. Goaltending has been upgraded on paper and we will know for sure next April. I’m on the fence with JP . Like to see him stay but believe he needs to accept the fact he is not top 6 at this time. The defence is fine and would be better if Barrie can be moved. MN should be 5he 7th defenceman . Liked his toughness . The forward group look powerful and will give Raycroft an impressive line up to work with. Agree Foegle needs another look but cap crunch is causing problems . Keep the vids rolling

  11. The Stars are trying to sign Klingberg, Oettenger and Robertson with 11 million in cap space.

Kind of wish we offer-sheeted Oettenger..

  12. If Puljujarvi has a big year with McLeod and Holloway his market value would skyrocket.!!!

  13. If Nurses contract had been more realistic there probably would have been enough money to keep everyone!!! It's really to bad.!!!🤨

  14. Personal I'd move Foegele, moving JP leaves the a right side even weaker then it is already, we have a surplus of left wingers, moving Foegele leaves a opening for Holloway on the 3rd line, giving JP one more yr also leaves more options to keep Hayman on his off wing that he prefers to play.

I would love nothing more then have the Oils goaltending issues solved but when we get the dreaded December slumps form Connor and Leon we will talking about the Oilers goaltending. Your right I don't think the oil had many options this offseason for a true starter, Campbells not the guy when it comes to goalie analytics he falls in the bottom 25% in save metrics, a good example his Grubauer when he signed in Seattle everyone looks at his save metrics with the Aves and it showed he stop the pucks he was suppose to but the high danger save% was one of the worst in the league, his win lose record was good because of the team in front of him, and he completely sucked for the Kraken once he didn't had good D in front of him. The Leafs had a much stronger D core then we do in Edmonton hoping Campbell doesn't follow that Grubauers in Seattle

  15. Good discussion as always.

If I was in Holland's position, I would move WF (too much depth on lw) and Yamo (i like JP better), and go after Rodriguez as Yamos replacement. Holloway would replace WF.

  16. Trade Barrie for a 3rd pairing shutdown guy, Barrie has the most trade value and highest cap hit of the 3.
Mayfield or Hakaanpa are some I’d be happy with.
I’d like to give Pulju and Foegele one more chance, their size and skill could combine for a very solid “playoff style” 3rd line.

  17. I think JP is going because of his health issues. WF has joined the McD posse being at the ZH golf tourney. Chemistry over statistics with KH, I believe. Goodbye Bison King!

  18. If Broberg can play regular and Bouchard can take that next step this team is a contender. Certainly the best team in the Pacific.
