I always here ppl talking on how good Rasmus Andersson and Oliver Kylington have been, but one guy that has been one of the best in the league imo is Christopher Tanev he by far one of the best traditional D-men in the league and should be in the Norris convo but he wont be cause he's not a goal scorer 😔😔
I expect the Flames to add another defencemen. This success really surprised me as a fan but also not because of Daryll Sutter and his culture change and stability. My prediction is they make noise in the playoffs. That’s all I’ll say.

I think we have a strong team here in calgary but I would like to see us stop the goals against us by bring in fleury and I think we need to sign more new players to help the team forward for example Joe pavelski, chiarot, Patrick marleau, tj Miller, garland, oshie, players who can also score goals
I think we need to sign mitch marner, goalie-price I think then we resign Monahan, tkachuk, all of our top players to keep the team together

Monahan had a hip injury a couple years ago and he's never been the same
Where did you hear Giordano is gonna retire this summer?? He's having a good season individually and has stated he's going to play until he cant keep up anymore.
Calgary never picked Gio he was an undrafted signing. You guys really gotta do more prep you clearly don't know much about the Flames.
If you were to trade out Backlund and Monahan, you would need to fill the 2nd and 3rd line centre positions. The Flames do not have the organisational depth to pull that off. Dube might be able to take over 3C duties, but his game has not progressed near 2C yet. Ruzicka is not ready for 3C, let alone 2C. Pelletier is a LHS LW with limited C experience, Coranato is a RHS LW/RW. Only LHS Zary is a true centre and he's playing on the 4th line in Stockton. Who else are you going to bring up? That still leaves a huge gaping hole at 2C. Which centre would you suggest that Calgary trades for with Backlund ($5.35M till 23/24) and Monahan ($6.375M till 22/23) as the assets? That's $11,725,00.00/year for the pair. Who has that kind of Cap Space for both? I would love to hear a realistic scenario where Calgary attains a solid 2C and doesn't get screwed on the trade and/or have to retain salary.
The difference between the Canadian market and American market (as it applies to hockey) has absolutely nothing to do with popularity 😂 Hockey is by far more popular in Canada, the issues have to do with a. Taxes b. Location (Winnipeg vs LA) c. Weather.
Also, I’d argue Calgary’s top 3 offensive prospects aren’t Coronato, Zary and Pelletier. Pelletier for sure, Zary maybe but Coronato has been average in the NCAA this year, meanwhile Rory Kerins is 1st or 2nd in the OHL for points. And if you’re talking about NHL ready, Matthew Philips has been scratching for a chance for years.
I agree with Cris… I’m indecisive though between the Wild and Calgary. I have the feeling Carolina and Florida will be facing each other and the Avs will not make it against the Wild (playoffs hockey btw) and Calgary will go with the Wild to the finals… and my analysis is based on nothing this time (I’m just going with my gut… normally I give all this big hockey analysis but today I have to be honest, just the good ol’ gut feeling and being totally unprofessional hehe). If I’m full of sh** you can make fun of me (or make fun of Cris 😂😂) after the playoffs. Good episode guys. They have Juuso Valimaki in the minors who is itching for a spot. They also have Michael Stone signed as well. . At this point, I don't see who Giordano could replace. I love Giordano, but at 38 I don't know if he could displace any of the Flames current defenseman. The Flames also have a few big, smooth skating defenders in the minors as well. If one of Markstrom or Vladar is injured Wolf looks ready as well. If the Flames can get to Colorado in the playoffs without many injuries I think they can beat them. Colorado is their equal in every way except forward depth. The Flames have a 3rd and fourth line superior to Colorado. You mentioned Lucic having a good year. He has a big centreman with soft hands in Ruzicka. That's a big reason Lucic is doing well. If there is a worry for me it's in the finals. Carolina, Florida and especially the Lightning may still be able to knock 'em off….my prediction. Flames lose in the Stanley cup finals.
