  1. Phill Kessel in a Oilers Uniform would be insane & I think Holland will target him next month.

  2. Oilers should target patty Kane. But I think that could be deadline stuff tho

  3. Phil Kessel would be a great addition for either top 6 or 9. They still need to work on their defense. Patrick Kane has to agree to come to Edmonton since he has a ni trade clause. Team like Colorado and New York could go after him and U.S taxes play a factor for someone like Kane

  4. For Edmonton to go after Kane Chicago would need to retain at least half of his salary, we’d probably give up a first rounder, and a roster player or a very solid prospect

  5. To Edmonton: Patrick Kane
To Arizona: 6th round pick, 50% of 50% retained Kane’s salary
    To Chicago: pulijaarvi, foeggle, 2024 1st, 2023 2nd, 50% retained Kane’s salary

    Get it done

  6. If I was the Oiler's GM I would be mortgaging the farm to get Seth Jones and Patrick Kane out of Chitown in a blockbuster trade! I would pass on Phil Kessel as he is a bit of a wildcard.
Obviously, The Oilers need the hawks to retain 50% of both of their contracts. m not sure the Blackhawks could retain on both salaries as each team can only retain on 3 contracts.
So here is my trade proposal. Please let me know what you think.

    Edmonton Oiler get
    Seth Jones (50% retained) $4,750 000.00
    Patrick Kane ( 50% retained $5,250 000.00
Total 0f 10 million in cap hit

    Chicago Blackhawks get
    Puljujärvi, Jesse $3,000 000.00
    Bouchard, Evan $863 333.00
    Tyson Barrie $4,500 000.00
    Bourgault, Xavier $925 000,00
    Schaefer, Reid $950,000
    2023 1ST round pick
2024 Conditional 1ST round pick * if Patrick Kane leaves the 1ST round pick becomes a 2ND round pick
    Total $8.7 million

I realize this trade is not done as the Oil will have to move out another $1.3 million
Having Seth Jones and Darnell Nurse would help bolster the Defence.
Is this trade an overpayment? what do you think?
McDavid and Drais window is open for years to come, This trade could help them win a cup.
Losing Bouchard hurts but can the oilers afford to pay him 9 million? I don't think so.
    Go Oilers Go

  7. I think a perfectly fitting add for the Oilers would be Calvin de Haan. The defense is still sketchy and he'd be a good add to shore up the 3rd pairing. It's all a question mark though because of Broberg, Neimaleinen, and Samorukov.

  8. Sam was part of the Oilers losing culture , has been bounced around losing that sense of belonging, and would be leaving another losing culture. That's why I'll pass

  9. Principe caught me rolling a joint in the old Northlands coliseum. He smiled at me and said "as long as it's not smoked in the building boys I didn't see nothing"

  10. I like the idea of Kessel or Kane but the Oilers need defence so they have a better chance at a cup

  11. Didn't know about that Kane possibiity.. It is tantalizing but sounds difficult to improbable. And the languishing Kessl is such a nice natural upgrade to a team building that way to begin with. Plus, the price would have to include those "sweeteners" to get Chi to take that salary issue off their plate. Huge price but on the other hand I have been one to believe that when it comes to the Oilers: The Future Is Now should be their guiding mantra. But this really challenges that extremity with one of its own, too. And Kessli is such a blue chip kind of adder to their already formidable line. I don;'t know man–meanwhile, I wonder more about Edmonton doing something to really solidify their goalie situation. I had dreams of Marc Ander Fleury–but who doesn't? What do you think about goalie, though? No offense to Smith or Koskanen who really battled through and performed when things counted, but shouldn't Edmonton think more about Kessl–and a possible blue chip, everyday goalie as their future is now winning ticket?
