  1. Many do not project Kaspar as a top 6 forward.

Another defender, highly doubt it with all these centers, and a few right handed forwards available.

If Nazar or Savoie slip through, either of these two have to be the answer. Lambert? Only Yzerman would know if Brad is worthy.

  2. If Jiricek is still there at #8 Id be stunned. Im sure theres a team that would overpay for the chance to draft him. Theres decent players in the middle of this draft. If you can get multiple 1st round picks, why not?Or you keep him and have the most bad azz defense in the NHL. I do also think Savoie will be gone by the eighth pick. Either Kasper, Lekkermaki or Nazar would be wonderful additions. If your splitting hairs trying to decide. Id say The only reason Id lean towards Nazar is he's a Michigan guy and he understands the history and maybe more inspired come playoff time? Plus im sure he'd be honored and his family thrilled to play for the Wings

  3. Hell yeah, glad to see Max getting the airtime he deserves. A food talk to start seemed right for what I remember from wings for breakfast

  4. My preferred draft prospect at #8 who I think could be available, in order:
    1. Matthew Savoie
    2. Johnathan Lekkerimaki
    3. Cutter Gauthier
    4. Frank Nazar
    5. Marco Kasper
    6. Brad Lambert
    7. Rutger Mcgroarty

  5. Detroit Red Wings 2022 off-season plans:
Steve Yzerman takes on Tyler Myers contract of 2 years at 6 million per season for Vancouver's 2022 1st round 15th overall draft pick.
Detroit Red Wings trade Tyler Bertuzzi to Ottawa Senators for their 2022 1st round 7th overall draft pick.
    NHL draft:
Detroit Red Wings draft at #7 (originally Ottawa's) David Jiricek
Detroit Red Wings draft at #8 Matthew Savoie
Detroit Red Wings draft at #15 (originally Vancouver's) Rutger Mcgroarty

Steve Yzerman takes on Sean Monahan contract of $6.375 million for 1 year for one of Detroit Red Wings 4th round draft pick, (Colorado's 2022 4th round draft pick.)
Detroit Red Wings 2022-2023 line-up could look like this next season:

    Vrana Larkin Raymond
    Berggren Monahan Andreasson
    Fabbri Suter Zadina
    Rasmussen Veleno Sundqvist
    Gagner, Erne

    Edvidsson Seider
    Walman Hronek
    Oesterle Lindstrom
    Myers

    Nedeljkovic
    Hellberg?

Detroit Red Wings 2024-2025 line-up could look like this:

    Vrana Larkin Raymond
    Hanas Savoie Andreasson
    Berggren Veleno Mazur
    Soderblom Mcgroarty Neiderbach

    Edvidsson Seider
    Johansson Jiricek
    Wallinder Hronek
    Buium

    Cossa
    Nedeljkovic

  6. I really have the feeling Yzerman could go McGroarty that's my off the board take there's so much potential in him kid is a monster elite shot great playmaking strong in general and especially on the board battles only concern is his skating but no doubt he could easily fix it with hard working that's definitly not a thing that would freeze Yzerman to grab him

  7. Art just can not shut up. A good interviewer is like a good salesperson, the customer or guest should speak 80% of the time. If the interviewer asks a concise open ended question pause and let the guest speak….maddening. Done after the 5:12 mark. I give up.
Paul W. Smith has the same problem. Long winded questions.

  8. Dude, it's incredible that Art is still given a platform by the Red Wings.

Dude just says off the wall shit and seems to rub everybody around him the wrong way.

  9. Art just won’t drop this “I guarantee we pick a center” thing. He’s been wrong about our first two picks in the last handful of drafts that I can remember him talking about. I agree we need a center more than anything, but if you can get a top 6 winger at 8 where the remaining centers are even remotely bubble C2-C3, you probably want to take that winger. Like Ken Daniels said, whomever you pick in the top 10 (excluding total busts) is going to be great currency, and maybe we use out surplus of that 5’10” speedy winger that we have and trade a couple two years down the road for a 2C who ends up on the block due to a cap squeeze in another city. We need to draft our Brayden Point soon. Maybe we already did, who knows, but we need that mid-round gem to emerge soon.

  10. I agree when it comes to Kasper. Even if I only needed one reason, it would be that the Wings tend to be more successful with top picks who either play in leagues with no age cap, or are about to, and Kasper playing in for Rogle, like Mo did, will teach him what playing hockey beyond the stage of dominating junior leagues feels like, and that’s exactly how you get a Griffins squad highlighted by 19 year old studs.

  11. I will be very upset if we don't snatch Matthew Savoie if he's available.

  12. Also Yes I know Yzerman has drafted big guys. But we can't have too many big guys.. We need some speed, and dazzle.

  13. Max is a tremendous writer, if you don't have a subscription to the athletic you are missing out. He is really fantastic at his craft, very well spoken. He goes to see these kids play. A true professional. LGRW🐙🏒🤘

  14. I really want Savoie but I'll take however Steve chooses

  15. Wet burrito invented in GR??? Umm, no. The absolute worst Mexican food I ever had was at a sit down place on 28th Street, covering it with red or green salsa wouldn't save it. Pontiac had legit Mexican food, that would satisfy a Californian. GR, stick to Dutch food (??).

  16. what about the guys playing Grand Rapids? they have some big boys down there, anyone expected to be brought up?

  17. I can’t stress this enough, Art has no idea what he is talking about. Like ever. Danielle is awesome, please get someone else to do this show who knows what they are talking about

  18. Love the direct and informed banter between the panel here, great job folks – appreciate that the Red Wings publish conversations like this that are so honest from independent journalists
