This is the most pathetic franchise in NHL history. One Western Conference final apperance in a quarter century of existence. One of the poorest numbers and least passionate fanbases in existence; the very few diehards who refute this just prove 'exception to the rule', because there's not many of them. Less than 50% even making the playoffs. Dumb logo, can't even recall who the 'best' player in franchise history is because no one seems to play there for more than 5 years except old Mike Smith. I guess Shane Doan which is even more inexcusable knowing he had to waste his amazing talent for such a poor franchise. Sale after sale, management group after management group; the best example of Gary Bettman not admitting he's wrong.
My Prediction: 8th in the Central
Tank SZN, Chayka fucked this franchise on his way out.
I hope Eriksson gets the chance to play, and that he has a decent season.
This team is going to be terrible, like one of the worst teams in NHL history terrible, but I still like what they’re doing. Teams in the NHL should either be going all in for the cup or all in for a first overall pick, and the Coyotes are doing a great job at going all in for that first overall pick

The new GM can start his rebuild b/c it's his. Chayka had to go anyway. The contracts they picked up are serviceable players. Armstrong has done an excellent job restocking DP's and moving OEL's contract. Still need to deal with Schmaltz and Keller with those contractual anchors. People need to remember they haven't finished in the top half of the league in terms of regular season since 2011-12. They also need to remember that they've had 4 ownership changes since 2008 and they have no arena.
Arizona will have nearly 50 mil in cap space next year, with a ton of draft picks as well.
They will be a really good team in 4-5 years.
Matthews will be there by then.

Strome was the consensus #3, so no blame to be had on the pick. But imagine how things might be different if they had picked Marner. Once again illustrates my rule: Beware of the guy who played with the generational player. Yes, he was a Center but he was one of the best players in the OHL and playing against 2nd lines.

The Buffalo Sabres of the western conference. Just with much less fan support. Anaheim is much further ahead in their rebuild than Arizona is and Ducks had some fairly good teams in the 2010's. Arizona has had basically one good (overachieving) team since 2011. I don't know how much longer the NHL is willing to keep propping this team up with 💰 before the league realizes what a colossal failure this team has been and will most likely be for the next few years.

Hey man I have compiled an excel sheet with all points average of all teams since 1987-88. And the worst team is NY Islanders and Edmonton . But Arizona is not far ahead.
The most wtf Finale would be AZ vs TOR. As both of these franchise in the last 33 seasons(not counting old jets stats in) were the worst in term of no cup, no finale, least 3rd appearance, low pts avg in reg season. An AZ-TOR would be the equivalent of a DET CLE SB. Exept a DET CLE SB would be INSANE!

Coyotes in Arizona is a failure. I say they won't last long in Arizona before moving somewhere else preferably Houston so there would be an NHL cross state rivalry in Texas.
It's been 25 years, the Coyotes haven't turned a profit, They're not winning on the ice and now They're getting evicted from their arena. Bettman either move the franchise or contract them.
You forgot Ty Emberson one of the best D coming into the NHL this year signed an entry level contract with Arizona. As a rookie he should help the Depth immensely
