Oilers had way more PP chances. NY got a PP goal AND a Shortie. Not good. Panic. Panic is reserved for severe situations. They're what 500. Not great. Not garbage. Not good. Big error by Bouch. NYI Goalie was incredible. Campbell let in three but it could have been a LOT more. He actually didn't do poorly in my opinion. If the Oilers win the next one or two it would help. You know being an oilers fan is quite embarrassing right now, when you have 2 of the best players on the planet and can't score on 50 shots, that's pretty brutal, another terrible performance from Campbell right after skinner has a bad game, looks like the oilers are still in the hole they thought they dug themselves out of last season.
Didn’t watch the video yet and only watched 2 periods but the oilers defence lacked some effort but I think Campbell could of had a better night. Sorokin was a brick wall
Campbell wasn't a big problem today he had some great saves, the big problem was the turnovers and good chances we gave the islanders especially on rushes while they are shorthanded
I think we had a garbage off-season. We trade kassian the only guy our team really wants to fight or even be physical and replace him with who? I’ll answer, nobody. Smith and Keith both retire and who do we get for veteran presence on our team? nobody. We also get rid of russell. We sign Campbell and I was a fan of this signing but I thought we were going to add a GOOD player to our dcore. Looking back on it now would it of been better to go for a cheaper option and add a 2-3 mil dman instead. Probably. I do have faith in Campbell to pick it up but wow we have holes to fill on the roster this year. Cant just have 4 character guys leave and not even attempt to replace them and hope young guys fill there spots with no growing pains.
Don’t understand Woodcroft!? Why would he play Campbell when he just got a broken nose on Monday and why won’t Woodcroft put RNH and Hyman together when he clearly mentioned the two has great chemistry a few weeks ago. Holloway, Draisaitl and McDavid should be our first line and Hyman, RNH and Foegele or McLeod on the second unit. Holloway playing with Draisaitl and McDavid might give him more space to shine. Hate seeing Holloway on the bottom 6, kid has great potential.
