i would like them to get schen and also accari and oreilley from the blues. if they can get them before the deadline would be great also. this team as is, is not ready for the playoffs nor will they make it out of the first round with this group.
So. if you look at Torontos cap friendly , theres a reason not to many guys are signed after 2024. That to me is the time they have given this team to sink or swim. IF Dubas' team hasnt produced by then . they can fire him , get a new gm and that GM isnt left with a ton of Dubas' contracts that he cant get rid of.
Schenn is definitely not a new name. He has been brought up since last season. IMO Robertson is as good as gone come trade deadline.
He will be moved for a forward or a defencman.
Im really liking a potential of a Timo Meier. Meier, Tavares Nylander would be a pretty sweet line, or even a Meier , Tavares, Marner/Nylander
To me that is going to be the number one priority this year.
I could see them going after a defenceman but I would think they would want someone a little different then schenn. someone with a little more potential. With Schenn, you know exactly what youre going to get. I could see them getting him but I think they would also or instead , go after a guy like a Vince Dunn or a Jake Bean if either become available.
If Toronto could get a Meier, Dunn and Schenn, Perhaps a depth goalie as well , a 3rd string that could be a solid backup. That would be a team that could do damage in the playoffs.
Big physical RHD. We got Benn playing decent Brodie will be back but we need a top 4 RHD who is legit physical. At that point Benn can go to the left side as he shoots left.

i agree chicky is too injury prone and would cost too much, get rid of Holl he just sucks @ss, cant stand watching him cough the puck up everynight or go down the rightside and getting caught on a 2 on 1 the other way, THE HOLL EXPERIMENT is over, replace him with Schenn, i always liked him, the Leafs rushed him at 18 years of age, he is the perfect number 6 D man, holl 2 mil or Schenn 850 k you save $1,150,000 in cap space for the trade deadline and move kerfoot's 3.5 mil for a proper 2nd line winger, that still leaves Muzzin LTIR MONEY too boot.
Muzzin's "Cup Experience" really paid off for the Leafs – he showed them how to win! Maybe in regular season – no difference in playoffs as he has always been injury prone.
Schenn another older guy would bring the average age of Leafs D to nursing care home status.

not to sure how badly calgary wants to move him…. but christopher tanev would be a decent pick up for the leafs… being a right side defensive defensemen with 2 years left (this and next year) making 4.5 million and is 32 years old… a solid veteran… and calgary could use some offense right about now like a kerfoot… would probably need to add other pieces/picks/prospects but thats a deal i think is reasonable and doable, so long as calgary is struggling… dubas should be calling quickly. calgary also has klyington on the IR… they are deep in d men…. makes sense for both team and money isnt too far apart

I think it's becoming apparent that the Leafs will have nothing to show for the Matthews era, not even a playoff win. NJ schooled them last night, they just don't have the right ingredients, simple as that. They are not a cup contender, they were closer to that when Kadri and Komarov were here.

Its really hard to get a true top 4D that has term and isn't old. These moves happen in the offseason which Dubas didn't address. Trades are hard to make in-season and who's moving a good, young D? no one..
You do an awesome job keep up the great work. I don't know about you and every other Leafs fan , but I'm tired of making changes on ice as for what the last six years its the same end result every single year. We need big changes in the office , and the bench. Until this happens I'll watch the team , as I love hockey in general , however until we have someone that is not afraid to move one of the top five we are screwed. Look what Masi had done for the Raptors. We trade Derozan the claw , we know how that ended up. Wow the Toronto Raptors are your 2019 champions. Still feels good saying that. Muzzin was good when he came in but now he has changed his game to accommodate his injury. He is no longer a force out there. Him and Holl have to go. We need a solid top 4. Reilly and Brodie are good and Jordie Benn is great for the 3rd pairing. I am still on the fence about Sandin. He is great offensively but so shaky defensively. Liljegren is also a good 3rd pairing D man.
We need to stop regurgitating kerfoot as a trade chip. He is way more valuable to the leafs, than he ever will be as a trade chip. Digest that for a minute… and focus on the "to the leafs" part of my statement…. not the "valuable" part.

The case of Morgan Riely longest tenure leaf it's time move him.
Not close to a Norris candidate might be a 3 or 4 on another team. But he's not a threat too offensive minded gets caught out of position can't play a 2 on 1 . His best years are behind him unless they can find a partner that can compliment him and cover up for him.

Schenn is not available. He’s playing with Hughes. In some ways, he’s the perfect defensive partner. Kinda like what Tanev did for Hughes before he left for CGY. And the Canucks don’t have anyone else who can play with him. You’re better off asking for Myers. His salary can be offset by sending Kerfoot and Holl. So basically, his acquisition cost is less than Schenn.
Stop being a hommer Andrew, you'll get more views …You'll get dogshit for Kerfoot, not worth talking about his trade value. If you want quality you need give up quality. Focus on trading Marner for real return. He has no value in the playoffs, we need serious help on Dline and so muscle.
