Severson has been making the same mistake for years. Unlike years past, the team is trying to win now– it would have at least been nice for him to take some more responsibility in the post-game but I feel like he was on damage control trying to mitigate it as something that just happens as an offensive D man. That is at least the 3rd time this year alone he has made that turnover and it ended up in the NJ net twice out of the 3. The time it didn't was the Ottawa game in OT in NJ.
This team has to step it up with the schedule coming up. They won't survive if Jack is the only one scoring goals right now. The "hot goalie" excuse only goes so far when Wedgewood barely has to break a sweat in a one goal game.

Could use a clutch scorer like Palat now, his return could not come soon enough. Devils have lost their mojo, hope they get it back soon.

Bastian provided net front presence that Devils hadn’t had for years . We haven’t been facing elite goalies recently , we’ve been making their job easy . And Severson has been … Severson .
The team just has to finish on their scoring chances. Back when they were on the "heater" everyone was contributing and now it doesn't seem like we're playing with 4 lines that can score (Need Bastian & Palat back). At times it only feels like they're playing with 3 lines. The dumb penalties need to stop and they have to figure out the Powerplay. Regardless getting that many shots on goal you have to think they are going to come out on top more than they should be losing.
I am disappointed the devils lost to Philly last night. They need to use the same fire against the next few games. Andrew brunette should sat something
