  1. Corey Perry really stood out during the Habs incredible playoff run in 2021. So I was really disappointed to see him leave.

  2. At the end of day, it has good for him to sign with Tampa Bay. He wanted a stanley cup and the habs are going for a rebuild.

  3. No one would say no to back to back champs! We love him montreal but he would’ve gotten moved by gorton and hughes.

  4. Then again, he has had less than 0.5 pts per game for the last 5 years. Considering the obvious incoming rebuild, the youth pushing for a spot in the line up, and after seeing the post thirties for Price, Weber, now Edmundson, and so on.. 36 is a good age to expect someone to be on his final miles. The fact that Perry still has fuel in the tank is a bonus, but doesn't make it worth the gamble at all. The intelligent move was to NOT sign him considering the age related risks/expectations. Even Jagr was pushed aside eventually.. and Perry is no Jagr.

  5. Perry is definitely showing his age in Tampa, his legs are gone but damn if his hand are just as good as ever.

  6. Damn i miss Corey perry , i would have give him 2 years in a second , and try to keep him in the organization after he retires

  7. Freezing winter vs sunny beach. This is one the reasons why Canada will always be at a disadvantage. I think Perry would have signed in tampa even if MTL matched.

  8. The perfect guy to play with Nick and Cole. I would offer him a contract for next year

  9. I feel the same way you do! I fell in love with him as a Hab. WHo knows with the new mgmt anything is possible.

  10. i echo your sentiments top to bottom but who would you ditch from MTL's lineup to put Perry in?

  11. Corey Perry's game sens and skills, reminds me of Joe Thornton.
Knowlegde, leadership and high skill carries a heavy into pro.
Feels like if he wants to keep going, he'll always have a team somwhere.

  12. Buddy, on savait ca la minute apres qu’il aille signé à TB voyons que c’etait le 2ans…

  13. Loved him while he was here, and wish him the best.
The TRUTH is, even if we had signed him, we either would have traded him last trade deadline, or those upcoming one, so… the only thing we really lost was a bit more time with him, and a draft choice or two.

  14. Love Perry, he had a good year and playoffs with the Habs but anyone would say yes to Tampa, good fit for him, they needed some sand paper. Too bad Colorado won last year, imagine 3 yrs in a row he went to the final…and lost. That sucks for him! And 2 yrs to Tampa, goes to Tampa and … Anyway was sad to see him go, Bergevin made a couple of good moves but letting Perry go over a 2nd year contract was stupid. Happy to see him gone(Bergevin) now and love the new vibe on the Habs top to bottom. GHG!

  15. Perry wants to win, doesn’t fit a rebuild! Hughes wouldn’t keep an aging player like him around either. He’d be traded for sure had he been on the roster

  16. Two years on a 35+ contract can be a bit risky. You're stuck with the cap hit, no matter what.

  17. As a Habs fan for over 60 years, I was absolutely livid when Bergevin let Corey Perry get away. Perry was the quarterback of the incredible 2021 run to the Cup. The Habs were just a bunch of kids, misfits and leftovers, but Perry became their defacto leader, on and off the ice. He should have been recognized for his selfless performance and given a two year contract. Just one more reason that Bergevin was so loathed as a GM.

  18. Corey Perry, I miss him. Ilya Kovalchuk too. And Tatar. After today's loss and that fiasco against Anaheim, a dude like Perry can boost morale.
