  1. Angela Gorgone WAS the first female assistant gm. But much like Anglea James (greatest female player ever) both are women of color that are largely ignored as the hockey media only promotes white females.

  4. Why the emphasis on whether the position is filled by a man or a woman? Hire someone based on qualifications and fire them if they do a crappy job! I don’t care what gender the best qualified candidate is!! I wish her all the best in her new role! If she does a good job make her GM! Surely she can be better then Dubas haha!

  5. Well I think at least it's safe to say this one is not going to go out on sexual assault or racists comments….

  6. A portion of this comment section really displays the lack of equality and the amount of sexism still in the hockey world. It doesn’t matter what gender she is period. She’s qualified, has hockey experience, was a former agent, and is clearly intelligent with education in law and finance. Sorry she doesn’t have male genitalia 🙄 It’s 2022, stop being pathetic. This is a fantastic hire and I love the thorough direction that the Canucks are going through with the front office.

  7. Congrats, for the new position. I’m sure your going to have impact on the present environment/culture. It’s probably long overdue.

  8. she played youth hockey with boys, that's pretty dope having some on ice exp.
Anyway love the buildup right now on the Canucks – esp. getting Connor Garland (such an incredible guy).

  9. Great hire; her qualifications are excellent. And she is clearly intelligent. Welcome to Vancouver, Émilie.

  10. Ugh, diversity hire.
The more women in power the more everything gets pussified and ruined.
Coming soon no checking & everyone’s a winner.

  11. The Canucks kill 2 birds with one stone…she is not only a female in that position…which is rare…but she is qualified and smart…congratulations and good Luck….all the best 👌

  12. she looks like she could be Kent Hughes' daughter lol…also why does she move her head so much when talking?
