To be fair like 45 seconds after the high stick Robert Thomas got held and tackled without the puck. He is bad ref but says words in a funny way so all is good and he's the most popular person in NHL

Another Blues fan here who watches every LFR and this was a good episode cus any bagging on the Blues all the Blues fans will agree with basically. Have to disagree about Binnington though, not his best showing tonight but you ask any Blues fan whos watched all the games and they'll tell ya in most of them he gave the team a good chance to win. His numbers suck but so would any goalies when it seems like half the goals are, and I'm not kidding about half of them, back door tap ins and a quarter of them are the result of tissue paper weak play in front of our net. He's been solid which the numbers won't tell you but the team, has not been. The right team won tonight though, gg Leafs see ya next week.
Also yeah, Blues fans and every team will take the TJ Brodie penalty shot over the 4 on 3 PP vs one of the better PPs in the league lol. Unless it became the ability to choose your shooter for the penalty shot then I might take the penalty 😛

The NHL should follow professional soccer. Let the team/coach pick the penalty taker. I wouldn't say that's a horrible move for the league👍
i think if ur hauled down on a breakaway and you miss the penalty shot the penalty should still count

In fairness, it wasn't McCauley who called the pick penalty in game 7, it was Stamkos.

You would think good referees want to get the call right and use the tools available to them…unfortunately, we are stuck with Wes McCauley, who "manages" the game while failing to hide their bias vs. the Leafs.

NHL refs are and have always been horrible. An official should not have any reason for the outcome of the score, but they do.

Did Sheldon Keefe take it too far on the no-call pick and cost the Leafs a double minor? One of the things I love about human referees/umpires is the discretion to “fine” teams in game. Argue too much with a ball or strike, strike zone is going to change. Argue with a ref in the NBA, technical. I think Sheldon Keefe losing his cool on a pick (that didn’t lead to a wide open shot like it did in game 7) also cost them a double minor.
I'm a Leafs fan who likes the Blues. I was very happy the Blues won the cup and I still find myself cheering for them. Not against my Leafs but against anyone else. If The Blues win another cup I'd be happy. As for Toronto – PLEASE for the love of god advance to the second round!
It would kill the confidence of that player who drew the penalty shot if his team chose to take the power play instead but I do think teams should have the option to accept or decline a penalty shot when those situations occur.
Wes McAuley is the 21st century version of Kerry Fraser. Leafs fans will know what I mean.
With the missed call on the 4 minute high sticking I see corruption in professional hockey. We need an investigation into corruption in NHL Hockey. Not just the officials either, but team management and finance too. I wanted to see the Leafs in Arizona this Thursday but at $400 plus a ticket I can’t afford programs, drinks, parking and bringing family and friends. Television blackouts are corrupt. Something is wrong. The players probably know it but are gagged by their contracts.

Penalty shots should not be rejected. They're a lot of fun and bring more excitement. The rules should be changed where the team can select anyone they want to take the penalty shot, just like in soccer. I wonder if Kyrou would have mugged Brodie the same way if Leafs could have chosen Nylander or Matthews to take the penalty.
