Fields is JaMarcus Russell, to Cam Newton at best. He isn't a general. He doesn't make those around him better.
He comes off his 1st read running and ranks 26th in pressure situations.
For the first time in a long time the Bears are in position to grab a real; QB not an RB playing QB. Put together a package and trade Fields for a General. For someone who will win the chip because Fields won't even sniff one.
We have to get him some weapons.
Go Browns always 🏈 Go Buckeyes National Champion 23-24!
Does anyone else get the vibe that this interview back and forth is entirely scripted? Sounds robotic and rehearsed
He’s afraid to say what is obvious to anyone who knows the game of football. Fields is no quarterback. Pundits are scared to criticize a black qb. This is the deal, anyone who says different, doesn’t know what they’re seeing.
If they don't trade Fields, next year will tell if he's QB1 who will pass first run second.
Lmao 😂 no he didn’t he still can’t throw the ball 😂 he’s a running back
If he becomes a consistently capable passer, like a Dak tier passer or slightly better, he’s gunna win a Super Bowl. Superb leadership, superb rushing ability, superb strength.
I agree if they can change the first pic and even if they don't get Jalen Carter, but instead sign, Da'Ron Payne, things are different… There are three or four defensive players, that I would love to have if they can trade back…Tuli Tuipolotu is probably the most underrated DE and big and versatile enough to play inside… He is relentless, disruptive, very athletic for a guy who is 290 pounds… You don't lead the league in sacks, 21 tackles for loss, three Pass deflections and two forced fumbles… And yet nobody is saying a word about this kid who I think can be a great NFL player inside or outside., Jack Campbell, probably the best middle linebacker in this class and at 6 foot four 245 pounds, he's got the size to put on the edge if necessary… He sheds blocks like a pro, rarely gets fools and ship plays, and always has the intelligence and football acumen to attack the ball… He's an old-school football player in the best way possible. Lukas Van Ness, another underrated player hooking both work the edges are in the middle because he's got the size much like Tuli but a little longer, Kancey is in the same physical moles, as Aaron Donald… Extremely quick, explosive and strong, great leverage, because he's smaller he can get underneath and around those big, slow offensive lineman… He's going to be a game record in the NFL… There are a few other guys on both sides of the ball, but especially on defense… On the offense of line the Bears can pick up Stromberg a really Good center, Voorhees, an excellent guard, and possibly Darnell Wright RT.. so I would be trading back as much as possible because I think you can get these guys, even will McDonald would be a great choice and I still love Kayshon Boutte as a number one receiver, or number two, I think he's still the most talented receiver in this group, regardless of his production… Perhaps it's due to injury… But when you watch him in his last previous years, he looks like one of the best receivers in the group… if they took tank Dell or Josh Downs, I would be happy about that, because they need a speedster to stretch the field like cheetah… Tyreek Hill… You can always use a guy like that, guys are always find a way to get open and turn 5 yard screens/slants into touchdowns.
Is Mike Florio on drugs? Fields sucks and will be out of the league in 3 years. He has no accuracy, and cannot lead a team. The bears would be wise to move on.
I would also sign hopefully as an undrafted free agent… Hendon hooker from Tennessee… He's talented, a solid, passer, and athletic… And because he's injured, he might be available as a UD,FA… And why not have a young quarterback to groom behind Justin and another veteran… Hopefully they're veteran quarterback is someone that can actually win games, not just a space filler.. if Ryan Tannehill is available… Even Colt, McCoy, Case Keenum… If you're going to have a back up, get someone who can actually win… I wouldn't mind having Baker Mayfield if he's not starting somewhere… I think eventually he'll get his act together, but if not, I'd love to have them in Chicago as a back up… A guy who can actually win games. If Justin gets injured.
I have a feeling Aaron Rodgers might try to go to San Francisco… They do need a quarterback and he definitely wants to go back to the West Coast… Why not Seattle? But I'm sure he wants to go to a team that isn't rebuilding..
Yeah, I don't think Aaron Rodgers wants to play in New Jersey… Money or not, I think if he's close to the end of his career, San Francisco makes a lot of sense…
The difference between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers is that Tom Brady needs the right type of talent around him to win… Yes, he's a smart and accurate passer, just a really smart football player… But so is Aaron Rodgers… Aaron Rodgers can do things that Tom Brady can't, especially on the move… So you know Tom Brady has more championships, I still think Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes are better quarterbacks… I think it was just a perfect storm. Tom Brady was in the right place at the right time. He had the right guys around him and the right head coach… He was really good, but if you put them on a team with less talent on the offense of line, he's not the same quarterback, because he's completely immobile… Without protection, Tom Brady is not a successful quarterback, even if he gets rid of it quickly.
Too formatted and scripted lol just keep it real
Dam Mike Florio must not know that speaking well about Justin Fields is like a mating call to HATERS. They start coming outta nowhere with one hater opinion after another. They’re like the bugs from Starship Troopers. “Ain’t much to look at after you scrape em off your boot”.
Running skills? He’s a quarterback! A quarterback that has won 5 NFL starts in 2 years. He’s already has more rushing yards than Tom Brady. That should tell you how important rushing skills are for a quarterback.
Justin Fields is a bust ! Andy Dalton and Nick Foles were 4-3 under Nagy. Fields has 5 wins in 2 seasons! Mitch was 6-3 after being benched mid season! Bustin Fails sucks !!! I don't care about his qrb stats he is a loser.
If they re sign Fields Poles and Eberflus might as well quit their jobs! 5 wins in two years? How about a win over texas ? Or the 49'ers with one play Trey? Or New England's back up Qb ? BUSTIN FAILS is your boy.
NO, 124 yards per game passing in 2cd year . That's not close to what it should be he's never going to be more than a athlete. We need to draft one
I hate it when sports reporters kiss a#s instead of saying . He Bobby Douglas.
0-6 vs NFC north
That’s great 😂 he’s saying he’s a great runner and very dynamic, but at the same time he’s saying how much he needs to work on his passing skills. This guys assessment is as trustworthy as a grammar school kid speaking of their favorite athlete. If a quarterback is in their third year and still have major strides to make on their passing game, it’s over with. MoveOn.
Get him a good o-line and dynamic playmaking weapons then we’ll see what Fields can really do or can’t do. If he doesn’t make a dramatic leap this season as a passer then he’s not the answer and the Bears are looking for another quarterback like they do every four or five years, but if he does make that leap and becomes a quality passer then we can enjoy watching him play in the playoffs and hopefully the Super Bowl within the next 5 years.
Bears fan since the 70s, here. Fields is an exceptional athlete playing the QB position. He has all of the physical tools but is unable to process things quickly enough. A QB in the NFL needs to 1) be able to read defenses, and, 2) be able to anticipate. He is well below average doing both of these things. If option A isn't available he freezes. It takes him too long to go from option A to option B so he automatically goes to option C, which is run. As a runner, he's outstanding. The problem is that QBs that depend on running as their main threat never last because of the beatings they take. I would trade Fields while teams would still be willing to give up a relatively high pick for him because nobody will in a year or two.
The Packers said they want to move on from Rodger’s per the GM….
So, having more picks is better? Got it Mike. Does that apply to money too?
Fields reminds me of those 80s/90s big 8 quarterbacks
Is Florio nuts? Why the Hell would Fields need a contract after year 3? The Bears have no obligation to pay him until after year 5 as they will surely pick up his 5th year option.
In the first round of the 2023 NFL draft the Bears should select Darnell Wright RT from the University of Tennessee.
Justin is a capable passer. Look at his tape from Ohio State.. he was a stud who barely ran and was a "pocket passer" coming out of college. He just needs the WR talent as all QBs do. The bears had the lowest combined salary for their receiver room of any team in the NFL.. that equates to a QB looking like he needs to improve as a passer. If poles surrounds him with the proper talent no one will be saying "he needs to improve as a passer"
