Ya, this was a terrific interview, Eddie. Steve Keegan hit on a ton of topics that 'real Kings fans' have felt for years. It's why I lit in to Lisa D. at the Times when she began and pretended to years as a fan with her cynical articles? I mean, really? Can anyone say "bandwagon"er? To talk smack, you really have to have survived the era when jkc-the numbnuts canadian who brought the Kings to LA, bought KRLA and basically ruined everything he ever touched before finding his way back to d.c. Good riddens to all the memories of him…every stinkin' trade of fan favorites to his incredible Napoleonic complex and the way he treated Bob Pulford and then driving him out of LA. His unceremoniously dumping Terry Sawchuk after one stupid loss to the NorthStars…not to mention our very first/and last #1 draft pick-he just died recently-as unknown as he was when we drafted him. Yup, looking back brings a lot of pain and disgust. Did you know kentsnook traded his entire/best /top line because they had gone in to a slump and they pissed him off. So…gone were the Jet, Cowboy and Ross Lonsbury. By the way, we lost Ross a few years back (he lived out near Santa Clarita in the hills-a totally nice guy). Eddie lives in San Diego…but suffers from vertigo. p.s. this lo9ng time fan was never fond of bringing Gretz to LA. He was a great player and classie guy, but I ahted the trade AND the cash (or was it paid in stamps?). But the Marcel trade still stinks and was why we lost Pulford and any chance of ever winning a Stanley Cup. If you want dress up, go to a fashion show!
I really enjoyed this episode Eddie good job and I love Dustin brown i still remember the night he scored I think 2 or 3 goals and he may of even teared up a bit or that might of been me haha because it was just before the trade deadline and he was talked about being traded and u could c how much he loved being an la king and wanting to remain one 💯u don't c a lot of players react that way these days towards there team not long after that Dustin brown and the la kings won there first Stanley cup woooooo GKG 👍😎
Great choice to pick Steve to interview! He had many good takes and his perspective as a very long time Kings fan was xlnt, especially that in the 1970's nobody in L.A. was a hockey fan, until Gretzky in the late 1980's, 1988 iirc. And he's right that winning programs like the Dodgers & Lakers have a fan base with high expectations & are demanding. Blake has done a good job and he needs to make big moves soon; if not by March 3rd, then certainly this summer, incterms if goalie needs first & foremost, and secondly LHD. Then we will be a serious Cup contender.

Steve is my Cousin and has just tremendous amount of knowledge of Hockey and I think that the Kings should hire him in some capacity! As far as the Cups what can I say I was praying for the Blackhawks! LGR! Forever!
I agree with big Lebowski about Kopitar, but Steve is correct Brown is the greatest king captain ever. However when all is said and done Kopitar will be the greatest king ever, the fact that he’s maintained steady production while also providing elite defense goes unnoticed by a lot of people. I hope he stays and takes a nice discount contract so they can win another one.
