We don’t know what one of them will be we know the Leafs won’t make it.

  2. Imaginary-Ladder-465

    Who’s the other one?

  3. irkybirky

West will be eliminated just the same as the east. Then they will face a very formidable opponent. West are dogs

  4. LoanedWolf666

Total bloodbath in the East this year. Some really good teams will be bounced in the first round. All the crazy trades. Out of control. Meanwhile, the weaker west is just sitting back and waiting…

  5. knowledge-is-power91

I pray to Jesus Leafs are out first round

  6. CultFuse

It’s actually pretty crazy that they ended up with all that talent on all those teams in the East. I’m kinda upset that the Leafs might not get a cup with that group.

  7. I like how they don’t even include Boston, cause they don’t plan on losing.

    Like, ever.

  8. StonkersToDaMoon

Leafs won’t make the playoffs, what a boring franchise.

  9. This playoff shit needs to change. I’d love to see a 7th seed knock out the leafs.

  10. DBCrapper

Toronto wasn’t winning a round anyway

  11. DroopyNutz894

Let’s be real, we all know who one of those teams is already

  12. H8ersAlwaysH8

I’m all ready for it to be the leafs. Can’t let me down if I’m already down here. Haha

  13. PoorPauly

The Penguins might not even make the playoffs. Some of y’all weren’t alive the last time that happened.

  14. Sauronsindexfinger

Devils own the pacific this year.

  15. West conference just rubbing their hands together all sneaky like

  16. Rowdy_Roddy96

This is where Bettman swerves the league and mixes all the playoff matchups in a blender and we have east vs west 1st round matchups

  17. youkmowwhatyouarefor

First year the Pens won the cup, it was the best year to be an eastern conference team. Oilers had just won 5 cups in 7 years. Barely got by Calgary in 7 games with the last going to OT. The Flames beat the Oilers up so badly physically they were completely hobbled in the western final vs Minnesota. Calgary may not have killed the giant, but they injured it so badly they weren’t able to keep going.

  18. johnnymavrigg

Actually only at least 1 team won’t win. Probably more but statistically you can’t say 2 for sure

  19. Necessary-Mousse8518

Isn’t this what they said last year………….

  20. pforsbergfan9

Still gotta beat the team that comes out that will have all the confidence in the world

  21. Griff82

Wild Card from the East gonna clean house.

  22. DetroitGambler

Whats crazy is the East is so loaded that the middle tiered teams are almost better than the Wests 1-2-3 seeds. Now that is crazy

  23. prophetprofits

This league is a joke until they change it back to the 1-8 playoff format

  24. CashComprehensive423

    Pathetic isn’t it.

Even to know playoff matchups a month ago…Leafs vs TBL is sad. No incentive for the team to entertain fans, no ince time for fans, no drama…NHL…change this!!

  25. vbcbandr

Why the hell is the NHL still pushing this stupid bracket crap. They need to go back to #1-#8.

When can they next do that if the owners want to? I imagine there will be at least 2 pissed off owners in the East this year.

  26. jstreim

I think OP and Mike Kelly’s point are how bad the west is this year. That being said, though I still agree on going to a 1-8 playoff ranking, but this statement will still ring true considering these teams will be the 2-6 seeds. In a 1-8, you’d still have a 3v6 and 4v5 matchup, meaning Two of these teams will still not win a playoff round.

  27. elbows2nose

Well we know one of them who’s not getting out of the first round
