I can't fathom heading into the playoffs with only 12 forwards and a crowded blueline with 9 defenders?
Leafs can win against Tampa in 6 but they will lose in 7. If they play within their potential they can win. But certain players try to do stuff that they should not do. And that is when it all falls apart. Mathews needs to spend more time in front of the tampa goaltender looking for rebounds and scoring goals and less time blocking shots in his own zone. The new defence need to do that stuff and let Mathews focus on scoring.

Yes they are. The Leafs are gonna get revenge on the Lightning this year after last year's rigged series because of the 2 stupid high sticking penalties. The Leafs have all the players, even the new ones like Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari, Sam Lafferty and Erik Gustafsson. The Leafs are gonna beat the Lightning in 6 games this time!

The Leafs are absolutely the better team in every position except one. We will lose the first round because we do not have a goalie that can win night after night. The Leafs will have to score 6 or 7 a game to win and they can't do that. I have no idea what Dubas was thinking. I HOPE I'm wrong and I will never ever bet against them, but Leaf goal tending is a problem.

As a Leafs fan until '73 when I gave up on hopes of them winning a Stanley Cup and watching the Bolts for six seasons, I do believe the Bolts era is finally coming to an end. I'll never figure out how you Leaf fans would be satisfied with winning one round. Teams play for championships. Anything less and the season is a bust. I still see the Leafs out in the second round.

Only thing l see is O'Reilly shows up to play about every 5th game these days … He did it in St. Louis and now Toronto… His inconsistent play isnt good if you wanna use this guy as a top 3 center entering the playoffs!! Dubas should have gotten Quick!! Even as a rental player!
Well if you can't improve the goalie your best next bet is shoring up the D and bringing in defensive fwds and Dubas did that. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, I'm assuming the medical staff feel pretty good about Murray and we're hearing he might play next game.
That’s the worst part, exactly what Army said Vasi is the X factor. It really doesn’t matter what we do because we match up so well I feel we could take them but if he decides they aren’t going in tonight, it’s going to be really hard to get 1 by him let alone multiple and the leafs don’t have the goaltending to match that.
Leafs now have players in the room that will 'slap up side the head' those underperforming.
