@Kraken de Seattle

1. A lot of things to work on, took a lot of negatives to go down 1-3, adjustments will be made and rust shaken off.

Had a lot of good chances that didn't go in while the Kraken were very good at capitalizing on opportunities. They played how they needed to and kudos to them.

I have the Avs in 6 in a tough series and sticking to it. Not sure who was taking Seattle (a 100 point team) lightly, maybe just the media who have also already crowned the Bruins and Oilers 🤷‍♂️

  2. They played a terrible game (giveaways) and they still touched 3 posts,,, Grubby won’t be that lucky the rest of this playoff round,,, I also believe until Cogs is ready they should play 11/7 cause I saw an EJ that struggled

  3. Seattle's forecheck is relentless and impressive .Avs rely on a speed game and I don't think our boys adjusted for that. Too many bad , easily intercepted passes. Passes to NO ONE . Not sure how many times I said "Where was that going ?" We were outworked and it showed. Notice served by the Kraken. Next game will be different . SDMF Great show as usual Boys

  4. I'm on the east coast and these games aren't starting until nearly midnight so I guess I won't be watching any playoff games this year 👎

  5. Just think when MacKinnon’s contract kicks in. They’ll have zero depth. He better be bringing 6 points a night.
Now, Avs fans. What a bunch of cocky folks. Too many people overlooking Seattle. “Oh, we have all the stars.” You know what they have? Depth.

  6. Sound check!
No Friend of Mine – Slapshot.
It was not fun seeing our old buddy Gru last night!
Avs will bounce back though. No time to worry yet!

  7. The Avs were just off. Passing to nobody, passing to the Kraken, passing past each other and getting intercepted. WAY too many turnovers. Grubauer having what will hopefully prove to be his best game of the series, lol. Manson was super rusty.
I'm still not worried, but not because the Kraken aren't a good team. I just don't see them pulling that off four times. They played a nearly perfect game. Avs will adjust.
Something was in the air last night…. all the road teams won!

  8. You’re right about liking how they played…
after a decade of dump&Chase puck, It’s good to see us hold a good cycle for the last couple seasons in the OZone and that’s exactly what we did in the first period effectively, just so many damn pesky posts

  9. Not panicking. Avs were a little flat throughout the lineup and ran into a team that’s amped up just to be here with nothing to lose. Playoffs are about adjustments and I expect a much better effort tomorrow night. Our stud defense just played average last night with some bad turnovers and another piece I expect to be much better in game 2. Reminded me a lot of game 2 vs the Blues in round two last year. Chalked it up that these playoffs, like the regular season, are just going to be a grind.

  10. Just three pits. 1: Struggled with getting pucks out vs Kraken forecheck 2: Josh Manson sooooo rusty! Bad Penalties, out of position, lack of energy! 3: Missed on executing getting the pucks in the back of the net

  11. Teams that double mackinnon always have more success. The thing about this team though is we dont quit and figure it out!

  12. That was a massive disappointment of a game, but I'm trying to make myself feel better by telling myself that they weren't the only team that got clapped by their underdog, and at least they weren't the Leafs (speaking of which Steve Dangle's screaming face is staring at me from the sidebar) or Vegas. I'm not worried yet.

Soundcheck: Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle – Nirvana

  13. To many injuries this year …. Early exit might be good for team…. Run it back next year with landy back…. Avs are still a cup contender….. goalie is still a question in my mind….

  14. Last year, the Avs wanted to win. Yesterday, I did not see the will to win. Why? Why do they always play so badly at home? And then, after the game came the part the Avs and even Chris and Kyle are masters in it, finding excuses, excuses, excuses. I wonder, what would you say, if you are an Avs fan, saved a long time to afford the travel to Denver from out of state plus afford the horrendous ticket price and then you see that from your team, the defending champion? Not everyone who goes to an NHL playoff game has a six-figure income, the player millionaires of course do not care about John Doe. They just didn't "have the legs" as Cale Makar said. Some fans will not be at Ball Arena tomorrow, because they only could afford to watch one game and there, they saw a depleted Avs team that lacked in all positions the will to win the game.

  15. And here it is, the 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 for the Excuse World Champions, Chris and Kyle. Both fought hard against the Avalanche players for this title, but they prevailed and gained these gold medals with an outstanding performance!!!! Congratulations to Chris and Kyle!!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🏆

  16. I knew this had the potential to be a tough series, Seattle is exactly the type of team that has caused us issues in the past. We almost look suprised when a team can skate with us and it leads to weird turnovers.
Game 1 is always the feel out game, this team can easily adjust, this just feels weird because we were so abnormally dominant last season lol

  17. The hockey gods were not on Colorado's side tonight, and this is not the same Avs team as last year. I would move ERod down to the second line, and move Lehkonen up for game two; probably try Jack Johnson for EJ. Manson was not up to Cup speed yet. Some players (Nichushkin, and more) just had off nights. Avs are probably a better road team this year…

  18. Seatle reminds me of Vegas when they knocked us out of the playoffs….. avs better pick up the energy are this might be going home early

  19. Seattle did a great job clogging up the neutral zone and we didn’t get a lot going 5 on 5, we seemed to be a step or 2 slow to every loose puck so we need to clean that up, the PK looked great tho which is encouraging. I also think the power play needs to step it up as it feels like they’ve been remarkably average over the last month or so and they’re capable of so much more

  20. Val almost looked sedated last night, very strange. Anyways the 2nd line needs to improve and we need someone to be last year's Compher off our 3rd and 4 th lines

  21. Hey there Mr. Sullivan, SEA was 4th in NHL this year in 5 on 5 goals with 289. COL was 13th with only 270. Tell me again where the advantage is for COL? If you say the advantage is in personnel, then I simply disagree. COL may have a few more elite players, but I’d rather have the superior depth that has the greater ability to score from all four lines.
