I still appreciate the job they did all season. It occurs to me that they were 3 to 1 until Bergeron returned. Maybe he just didn't have fire to win. When Marchand was leading the team they were winning.

if you look at president cup winners its not good odds in the playoffs. hell look at 2019 lightning. the pressure is all on you to win. you are tired and blew your load in the regular season.
Defiantly some blame should be put on Monty. He really seemed to panic with is team management. But this team just never had to go through any adversity all year. They just didn’t seem to have the fight they needed when it mattered

The panthers really rattled this team they looked like scared lil babes out there. Completely shook. They looked like they were trying to not lose rather than trying to win
Because they played their best playoff hockey all year and they didn't have another gear. Montgomery said it himself, 'we just hit singles all game and wear down the other team'
That's cute in the regular season to never quit on a play but you're burnt out when other teams are looking to hit doubles.
I told you in January that the playoffs would be a nightmare for this team.

Don't beat yourselves up too bad about an upset. I understand it because you had a 3-1 lead though. I would have been pissed too. Although the Panthers were a wild card, they were not really a wild card quality team. They were getting used to a new coach and system all year and it finally started to click at the end of the season. They wanted this more. They still have the same goal scoring talent from their President's Trophy run from last year and were back for vengeance. Boston was a good matchup for Florida and it was a fantastic series. Seeing Bergy's face after the game broke my heart. I hope he plays one more year with this roster. GO CATS!!!

Montys game of jumbling lines, not starting Swayman and not getting on the defenses ass lost is the series. As a coach if you want to be a champion you have to be able to pull your guys out a hole when they’re digging themselves down. Not that I want him gone or anything but he’s gotta be better and just keep it simple
They were soft too…if you go back and look at successful playoff runs you HAVE to be physical and hard on the puck.
