    As a flames fan, this is the closest thing we are getting to a cup run that we will. Chuckt and Bennett are both beauties that played their hearts out in Calgary. I just hope its Oilers Panthers in the cup final and the Chucky Bennet (former flames) make their lives hell.

    In all seriousness. Florida stresses me the most of the teams of the east… Paul Maurices penalty accruing style doesn't bode well with the oilers- but the rest of the league should be sweating bullets.

    Peeps need to relax. It is just game 1. 7 teams in round one were behind in the win column but won the series. Leafs just need to get better on the PP.

    Well besides Torontos second goal defense on the panthers part was amazing, if toronto keeps playing the way they do and so do the panthers i can truthfully see the panthers in 5

    I believe they will beat the Leafs, they have shown too many times that they can lose to teams like this. If Florida gets decent goaltending, as you said, it is likely over. I think Matthews and co have never been hit like they will be in this series, EVERY freaking line dumps the puck in and then crushes the defensemen, every guy is looking for a hit.

    Keep dreaming lol, Florida is weak as hell and if bostons goaltending didn’t completely fail they’d be moving on. Maybe they are the magic team this year but don’t kid yourselves, the panthers play fast and loose, not a good recipe for winning

    Yes, I am a Leaf Fan and I noticed what happened to Boston. Panthers in, 4 or 5 games. Sorry Leaf Nation the Leafs are not what they seem.

    Pro tip as a life long hockey fan. Game 1 is always a coin toss. Games 2/3/4 are the meat and potatoes. This is where a team is going to lose if they can’t adjust and learn the other team. 5/6/7 if they go that long are where you have 2 more evenly matched teams and like in the prior games it’s all about adjusting and learning the team. Every team that makes it to the NHL playoffs have enough “skill” to win the cup. It’s the chess match inside the game that wins the cup.

    Bruce Budreau had a great point. One series he'd won, the rangers had just beaten Pittsburgh and they had a choice of whether they wanted it in a day, or three days. Logically, they chose a day later, to beat them when they were tired, and their opposition was still in Game 7 brain and beat em. I'm not worried, you're just trying to stir shit up bud.

    I think what the Panthers learned last year, is you can't float around in the playoffs. You have to go get it. You have to grit it out. If they can keep it up, they are going to be a tough out.

    The problem is that type of play is unsustainable and thatll cause a lot of penalties being called on them which was evident last night…thats why the leafs powerplay needs to get going…once they start making florida pay for the aggressive pinches and forechecks itll counteract florida's offense…
